Photographer’s Note
Today, I've decided to post even prettier fotka than yesterday's fotka
You may say: How's it is humanly possible to post anything prettier than the 'blue skies and the white clouds' yesterday's fotka ?
Oh, well… Obviously it is possible for me! Look at this beauty.
At this moment you possibly start to shiver down your spine from the disgust repulsion:
But... But. it has no church in it… Not a bit of the bushes… It's not from India ! Not even from Turkey with its famous tulip fields and the wind mills ?
True… My fault… Can't deny that… I apologize for the presence of the people in there who ( quite obviously) - are disturbing the unspoiled beauty of the place and are causing serious environmental pollution in there ( our kids will pay the price !), yet…
Pretty fotka is a pretty fotka is a pretty fotka and I want to be remembered by this one.
There…

I'm going fishing.
I got me a line.
Nothin' I do's gonna' make the difference.
So I'm taking the time.
And you ain't never gonna' be happy.
Anyhow, anyway.
So I'm going fishing.
And I'm going today.
I'm going fishing.
Sounds crazy I know.
I know nothing about fishing.
But just watch me go.
Lyrics: Gone Fishing - Chris Rea
Sounds a good idea George when the weather is good, some sunshine, away from the computer, going out...enjoy the low morning sun, get a skin burn during the day (just like this pal). Put a good lure on and sitting there watching the line...is there anything nicer to do on an early morning summer day?
I think i will grab some Tulips and put them online ;-)
Take care,
Henk

I will never ever understand why people take such a hobby. It doesn't wake the slightest interest to me. But we can't argue about tastes.
The old man does fit the portrait of a fisher though. He looks so relaxed and concentrated as if there were nothing else on the earth. I can imagine him sit for hours waiting for the fish to bite.
Didn't know there was a Hollywood in Fl aswell
All the best

Pięknie to zrobiłeś. Pozdrawiam W.

Glowing warm red, life!
I also like the concentration on the man's face
and the white
...hair and shirt!
Them people...

"Not even from Turkey with its famous tulip fields and the wind mills ?"
Hahaha. Well that is surely true in a few cities in the Netherlands where over 50% of the population is not originally Dutch. But hey, what is 'originally Dutch'? Italian? German? Celtic? French? Belgian?

Hi George ,

Hello George,
I'm not sure what you've done to my Hollywood here. Sure, it's all bright and saturated, but is it pretty? Where is the Florida with neatly painted art deco buildings, perfectly planted palms, and neon?
It doesn't exist. It's all moldy and rotting. Quite frankly, it's a hellhole, and I'm surprised we don't have to pay the tourists to come here.
This orange man has caught the light like some sort of gritty Rembrandt in technicolour. I think that's the highest praise there is. It's truly perfect. Thanks for showing the real Florida to us.

great piece here, compositionally love the separation the fishing rods create between the humans, and the warm saturated colors are gorgeous. love it!

no i "even prettier fotka" jest bardzo w porzo, bo zajefajnie wszystko poukladane w kadrze, bo kolory oczojebne o poranku, bo zylki wedkowe niczym pajeczyna oplataja duza czesc kadru... jest sporo elementow, ktore sie tu podobaja...

Hi George,
I ran across the notification e-mail for this one again - I had saved it because I wanted to comment on this shot but didn't have a whole bunch of time to consider it at that moment. So, here I came back to it and you know what, this shot is just as great as it was last week or so when I first saw it. What tremendous color and depth of field. It captures a moment that I am familiar with, very much so, having lived in Florida for half my Navy career and fished almost every weekend I was able (and lots of weekdays, as well). I can see myself in this shot, although this dude is a couple years my senior, I can smell the brine of the gulf and Atlantic and intercoastal and bait and taste the sand and salt on my cast net.
That is real, man, real photography that brings in those memories. So you realed me in on this one.
One funny memory of fishing in Florida -
I loved to catch shrimp, 'cause I love to eat shrimp. I learned the tricks of doing so up in Northeast Florida, around Jacksonville. I made my own bait patties and baited areas in the afternoon and would come back after dark to cast my net for the big ones. One night I was casting and getting a large amount of squid from the St. Johns River, unusual that far inland. There must have been some sort of real high tide, because not only was I catching squid, I started catching man-of-war jellyfish. They are actually very small, so I didn't notice until I put the bottom of my net in my mouth (part of holding it before casting to get a good spread) - along with one of those tentacles...
Good thing I had a twelve-pack of beer in the cooler - I needed it that night!
Enjoyed your fotka, George - thanks!

Hey George,
Looks a bit hot for being 7:30 am. I look through your gallery I must admit I like it. Many thought provoking images with interesting POV. I choose to critique this one because it's actually one of my least favorite of your. While I think the subject itself is good, compositionally not so, and the over saturation is stylize but doesn't really contribute or enhance the image in anyway, other than that it does grab one's attention right away. I do like those black and white and desaturated shots with interesting charactors, so human and so real.
I see that Reed loves this. Well that's make it so interest to see what make us all different and interesting and it great to see what other see different than oneself.
Judging from your gallery and critiques, my gallery is a blah and boring for you. Thanks for sticking around, at least some interesting shots to look at still.

The future is orange! a beautifully isolated individual in all the truest senses of the word - but man is he orange!...but in truth it must be said not as orange as his rod! A great composition!

Hi Jorge,
So florida! The intense sun translated by the orange colour, the old folks enjoying their retirement and nice beaches. A masterpice of light, composition and originality! A lesson in how to photograph a beach in a total different way! To hell with tulips and perfect landscapes:) It would be sooo nice to have more of pictures like this in TE, but unfortunatly it seems that the old masters are deserting us... Don't give-up we have much to learn and we need fuel (people like you) to inspire us.

This shot is fascinating. I'm still trying to figure out why. I only know that it is. It's magnetic. I cannot stop looking at it. Everything... everything just fits so... so perfectly and at the same time everything seems so.... surreeeeeal...
Beer brother... that's it... beer...

Restauracja nadal ...
