Photographer’s Note
This citadel is a pure wonder. I am pretty amazed to imagine how they could built such buildings at that time...
It is composed of two adjacent but separate castles. The lower one was built in the 11th century when the Corbières were part of Spain. When the castle was handed over to France in the 13th century, King Louis had the Château St-Georges built on the highest point of the mountain at 796 m. (source: Michelin)
I found that picture in a box with my old photographs (look at the date!). I did not even have a proper camera at that time... Yes, I took this picture with a disposable camera! But, though the low quality, I thought it was worth to post it anyway...
