Our Lady of the Snows - II Photo

Photographer’s Note

This is my second post of Our Lady of the Snows, a very simple little church, situated a few kilometres from the village of Amieira, not far from Portel. This church was first built in the 13th century but then it was destroyed and rebuilt in the 16th century. After that, several works have been made. Sometime ago it used to be all white, now I found it blue and white. Right on the right side of the church, we have the waters of the Alqueva, the biggest artificial lake in Europe. With its construction, the church is now very close to the water. On the left side, with the same blue&white colours, we have the wall of the cemetery of the village.

Hi Ana !
Not the sharpest one but a nice composition with this tall tree.I like too the contrast between brown,blue and the whit/yellow tones of this church.Next january I`ll visit Cape Verde again and I`ll see this simple but nice church architecture again.

I like this little church, and the way you composed this image, with the church on the right and the tree on the left.
Colours are great so as the magnificent contrast with the blue sky.

Parece faltar-lhe um pouco de brilho/contraste mas mesmo assim não deixa de ser uma bonita imagem. O curioso é ser Nossa Senhoras das Neves, num sítio aonde não deve nevar há muito anos.

Não precisava falar o autor,
eu já sabia que era sua Anabela.
Gostei, como as outras, da simplicidade interiorana da igreja, da composição com a árvore à esquerda.
O solo parece ter umas florzinhas brancas, logo na entrada da igreja... ficou muito bom.

Olá Ana, gosto do ponto de vista da igreja. Ela é bem pequena e simpática. Como é o movimento delas, pois são pequenas porém me parecem que numeras as igrejas nessa região.
Essa é entrada? Pelo isto não há janelas nessa igreja.

sempre acho graça ao ver capelas e igrejas em honra á nossa Senhora das neves erguidas em locais onde ela, a neve, não existe como é o caso aqui e em joão pessoa, no nordeste do BR, onde existe uma grande igreja-catedral.
como sempre um pov bem escolhido, luz baixa e muito suave, de grande beleza, a simplicidade das linhas da capela são muito bonitas de se ver nesta compo, bom equilíbrio com o largo cipreste. belo trabalho

Beleza de igrejinha aqui. E a fotografia está muito boa, com enquadramento e ponto de tomada perfeitos.

Noto que a maioria de suas fotos são de igrejinhas azul e branco. Essas são mesmo as cores predominantes daí ou é gosto seu mesmo?

Bonjour, chère Ana,
Passionné d'architecture religieuse, je suis comblé en contemplant cette petite église qui bénéficie d'une joliesse remarquable (j'apprécie particulièrement les couleurs de l'église et du mur bordant le cimetière). Intéressante note d'accompagnement également. L'ensemble se détache harmonieusement sur ce ciel d'un bleu pur.

Ora cá temos mais uma igrejinha, esta ainda mais singela do que é habitual, com a frontaria branca amarelecida pela bela luz do fim do dia, um lindo céu azul por trás e um cipreste para equilibrar a compo.
Está estupenda!
Não sabia que havia uma Amieira no distrito de Évora.
