Open Air Museum M -IV Photo

Photographer’s Note

Best TE friends, previous week I was in Bokrijk Genk Belgium, in the open air museum.
I try my new lens the 70-200mm, you can see the result, later I come back to these series.
I saw a lot houses and old small farms where I saw old tools that I as child saw on the farm of my father and grandfather.
A lot remembrance came out of my child years.

A small history of this lovely open air museum.
On the March 21, 1938 the province of Limburg acquired Bokrijk. Governor of Hubert Verwilghen inspired the acquisition. Verwilghen strived for the creation of a public domain that would combine culture and nature. His vision would be realized years later under the dynamic impulse of provincial governor Louis Roppe. On October 6, 1953 Provincial Council of the Province of Limburg decided to create an open air museum in Bokrijk. With the post-war industrial revolution and the increasing development projects of the Fifties, Flanders' living environment was drastically changing. Agricultural buildings of important cultural and historical value for Flanders were disappearing from the landscape. Dr. Jozef Weyns was appointed to coördinate the project and remained in function as first conservator of the Open Air Museum of Bokrijk. The museum opened to the public on April 12, 1958

The colors of this rural shot are very nice, but I see some - unusual for you - imperfections on the right/high side of the shot (trees toward the sky). Anyway an excellent shot, high sharpened and deep.

Une vue impressionniste de ce petit lotissement.
J'aime l'avant plan qui amène le regard vers les maisonnettes. Les couleurs saturée sont intéressantes mais le ciel a visiblement été modifié lourdement et les arbres sont même plaçés en surimpression dans le cadre !! Une retouche qui à mon goût rend l'image trop artificelle.
Désolé, celle ci ne me convient pas.

Hallo John,

De compositie en de kleuren rood en groen zijn heel erg goed, tevens is dat hek erg passend in dit beeld.
Maar John, die lucht, wat heb je daar mee gedaan, en nog erger, die boom rechts. Daar heb je zoveel aan gewerkt dat er allerlei fouten in zich heeft. Tevens is het klonen doorgeschoten in je witte frame...niet goed dus.

John, great exposure on this wonderfully composed shot. Are you using a cokin filter of some sort? The sky is dramatic but likes to be filtered. The tree in bloom and all the textures of the structures is great.

Hi John,
Most of your photos are great, and so is this one if you were not trying too hard to alter to much of it. I look likes you trying to make the sky darker and add more tree. You took great photo, leave it the way it is. If you're going to alter it, make it good so that people can't tell. This is just too obvious, this only make me doulbt your other photos. Keep it real.

a perfect example on how having the best "equipment" does not make a good photograph, John.

Usually I am dead bored at your pictures, so I do not comment them. But here, it is mostly to tell all those who blindly give their greenies and absurd compliments on a disaster.

The sky is everything but natural, the view, well, ok, there's tastes and tastes, but that messed up PP on the upper right corner...

People, do you look at the photographs befoce commenting ? Or is it just the fact of swapping points ?

si les couleurs sont fantastiques et les lumières magiques, en revanche, le post processing est un peu triop visible et de ce fait me dérange beaucoup. M%ais cela m'arriva aussi crois-moi, donc, je comprends que des fois on aime pousser un peu trop loin les contrastes.
L'endroit est bien choisi et bien cadré.

Hallo John,
Voor het eerst in tijden dat ik weer eens een foto van je bekijk, ben tijden lang niet actief geweest op TE.
Deze foto is prachtig, een mooi diagonaal shot van de boerderij in het museum.
De bewerkingen in de lucht en de boom rechts zijn echter minder. Er zal vast een reden geweest zijn maar het resultaat is zoals ook door anderen opgemerkt niet goed.

The diagonal line of the road and of the fence are assets to the composition. The trees are framing well the houses. The point of view is allowing us to see the deatils and colors of the houses. The light is enhancing the colors of the scenery. Have a nice day

Bonsoir John,

Malgré ce petit désordre en haut à droite (clônage qui a mal tourné je pense...), une bien belle image printanière. Ces musées de plein air sont vraiment une bonne idée, non seulement pour la ballade mais aussi pour garder une trace de ce passé rural qui de plus en plus, malheureusement, est appelé à disparaître. L'endroit semble très bien entretenu et certaintement très agréable à parcourir. Merci John.

(Heel vroeger had ik een zogeheten View-Master, kleine fotootjes door een kijker, daar had ik een hele serie van verschillende landen, zo ook België en daar zat iets van dit Openluchtmuseum bij, dank voor de herinnering:-))
