Photographer’s Note
The "House of Merchan"
When I was a child of just 7 years, my grandmother took me to visit the sisters Mary and Sara Merchán who lived in this old colonial house with two hundred meters from our house. At that time the house seemed enormous, their ground floors were compacted in the kitchen had a stove to cook with firewood. Sara died a decade ago, with more than 90 years. And Mary (his younger sister to look after her when she was sick) we survived a few more years, reaching 90 to pass too. Today, the house retains its colonial air, and was inherited by the nephew of Sara and Mary (because they never had children, never married, always lived together). The house has been restored and is in very good condition. Its facade of more than 60 meters is still drawing the attention of people visiting our village.

Hola Jesus,
Isa
