Photographer’s Note
This an example of the type of architecture to be found in Port Townsend located on the coast of the Olympic Penninsula. They have done a wonderful job of preserving these buildings. There are many Victorian style houses in the area as well.

It really is beautiful, and I wish people would do more restoring in my corner of the world, and less 'tearing down'. The new architecture really can't hold a candle to this. Lovely colors and detail. TFS

Hello Phil. Good work in this photo maintaining excellent color on a bright sunny day. I find it frustrating some times while trying to capture a building photo like this only to discover that hydro wires fill the frame. Good work though in this perspective. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Phil. Well preserved and beautifully painted. Excellent colours and detail to show off the architecture. I can’t quite make up my mind on the overhead wires, too much work to remove them and they do add to the sense of time and place I guess. Well composed and thanks for sharing.
Have a good week, Paul.

Hi Phil,
You captured great clarity in your colors and wonderful detail in the building but what raally makes this photo stand out is your very thoughtful framing. You manage the cityscape with balance in trees & cars, even the powerline works by echoing the lines of the sky.

Hi Phil,
I passed this town last year when i came of the Keystone ferry. Drove by in once piece without stopping. Now from your hand i see this nice architecture which i all missed...i was probably to much in a hurry for reaching Forks.
Anyway, you deep colours and very clean image present the dark red building in all his glory...very nice.
Regards,
Henk

Hi Phil,
This sturdy brick edifice stands out brilliantly against the lovely blue sky wispy cloud backdrop.
Love that yellow trim around the building that is so wonderfully flattered by the blue sky.

Hello Phil,
You chose a very nice angle right on the corner.
We get almost two streets as perspective.
Lovely old architecture building.
Fine and soft picture, you play nice with light and shadows.
Very well presentation as usual. TFS.
Best regards,
John.

Hi Phil,
Yes indeed a very appealing brick architecture style long gone and certainly worthy of protecting.
Unfortunately here in Sacramento, California the developers make the decisions and many of our brick buildings were demolished and being demolished for modern buildings. This includes the classical brick railroad station which had a huge mural of the transcontinental rail last tie spike ceremony; gone to build condos, offices and tourist traps.

Hello Phil,
It is a magnificent architecture with a very distinctive style.
Excellent frame with very good light and details.
Pity the wires are always in places less relevant.
Best wishes,
Charo

We stayed a night in Port Townsend when we were in Washington State in '05. I thought at first this was the place we stayed - The Palace Hotel, which had been a bordello in its heyday! We stayed in Miss Kitty's room! When I searched out my photos to check it's not the same building, but very similar.
Good corner shot in great light.
