Photographer’s Note
I just happened along in a quiet side street of Bhaktapur. She was standing all alone in a raised area, sort of shaded. I gestured and asked if I could take her picture. Techniquely its a little soft, shot at 400 iso, and shot at a little too slow a speed. But she looked so sweet, I couldn't resist uploading this one. I have another with the flash.....much clearer, but her expression is better here. It occurred to me, that she is probably 6 or 7 years old, and the post she is leaning against looks to be about 200 hundred years old.
I have included a second photo in the workshop. This was taken with the flash.

She is really sweet girl and I like this photo. But I wonder, why she has put "sindur" on her forehead like married girls. :)

A fine portrait steve, pinsharp with good eye contact. i like how she stands against the old gnarled wood makes such a nice contrast with her soft skin. would have liked to have had her not so much in the middle though, a litle off center works better.

Can't tell it is soft from this size and regardless, it is a beautiful image and a great moment captured. Lovely work throughout your travels :)
