Tel Aviv crowded beach with blue umbrellas
2008 was set a record year for incoming tourism.
Some 2.3 million tourists arrive in Israel between January and September.
The number of tourists arriving in the city was 34% higher than the number of Tel Aviv tourists in 2000 - the year Pope John Paul II visited the Holy Land and marked a record year in tourism in Israel.
