Photographer’s Note
This is Sydney's War Memorial situated at the southern end of Hyde Park (the opposit end to the Archibald Fountain uploaded yesterday).
The building was completed in 1934, designed by C. Bruce Delitt, with the external sculptures and reliefs by Raynor Hoff. It is built in the Art Deco style and is arguably one of our best examples of the style.
It was built to commemorate the Great War but unfortunately as a result of subsequent conflicts, also remembers those who made the supreme sacrifice in all those conflicts.

Hello Lisa,
A splendid night time capture of this memorial set in an urban environment. Both the point of view and the use of the vertical format are well chosen to allow the composition to concentrate on the memorial and the reflections in the silent pool. The night always brings another dimension to often everyday scenes and you have captured the spirit well here.

Ciao Lisa. The thumbnail reminds me of a microchip. The enlarged image takes me to a world of Art Deco mixed with some vision of a Utopian city.(Not referring to Sydney). What I'm trying to say is that it is an impressive image. Impressive. Klaudio.

Ciao Lisa,
you are specializing yourself in night shot?
Beautiful this other image. The reflected in the water, enriches the composition. Optimal the management of the lights and the sharp!
Well done! To soon!

Very nicely done Lisa. The shot taken at night is certainly a different perspective than what you see during the day. The reflecting pool takes on an added significance in this shot with a better focus on the building itself.
Thanks, John

Hi Lisa,
I agree with Reed, your best one to date. You've nailed the exposure in this one. It would be interesting to see what a normal night exposure would look like in comparison.
I love the reflections in the foreground pool plus the soft colours overall.
An excellent quality image, sharp as as well.
Question, is it just me or are the verticals and horizontals running in all directions, the War Memorial seems to be leaning to the left, the building on the left seems to be leaning to the left also, but the building on the right, the outer wall that appears to leaning to the right, weird eh!!!
Well done.
That's three of Sydney's landmarks you've now gazumped me on, about time you thought of moving interstate, get the picture.
Warm regards
Pete

Ciao Lisa,
questa e' davvero spettacolare, una gestione della luce perfetta, a me sembra leggermente inclinata o è un gioco della prospettiva? comunque bella

Hi Lisa
Indeed the framing could let think of a microchip, especially on the vignette where only the general impression appears and not the details. Good night image but you should fix the vertical on the left.
Have a nice day JY

Bonjour Lisa,
très bien construite en mirroir cette photo, une symétrie parfaite et une capture nocturne de qualité, très nette et très technique.
J'aime ca cadrage qui montre bien les constructions plus modernes qui entourent ce monument.
Amicalement.
Daniel.
