Photographers Note
Heybeliada or Heybeli Ada (Greek: Χάλκη, Chalki) is the second largest of the Princes' Islands in the Sea of Marmara, near Istanbul. It lies at 40°52′40″N 29°05′30″E / 40.87778°N 29.09167°E / 40.87778; 29.09167. It is officially a neighborhood in the Adalar district of Istanbul, Turkey.
The large Naval Cadet School overlooks the jetty to the left as you get off the ferry. There are two interesting pieces of architecture on the grounds of the school. One is Kamariotissa, the only remaining Byzantine church on the island, and more importantly the last church to be built before the conquest of Constantinople. The other is the grave of the second English Ambassador to be sent to Constantinople by Elizabeth I of England, Edward Barton, who chose to live on Heybeli to escape the bustle of the city.
At the top of the central mountain is an 11th century Greek Orthodox monastery, it housed the Halki seminary, the main Greek Orthodox seminary in Turkey and Theological Seminary of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. The monastery attracts tourists from all over Greece and Turkey.
To prevent the island from becoming polluted, the only motorized vehicles permitted on the island are service vehicles (ambulance, fire, police, and the like), the only forms of transport are by foot, horse and buggy and service transport. There is no airport; the only way of getting there is by boat.
The winter population of the island is around 3,000, but in the summer, the owners of the summer houses return and the population swells to approximately 10,000 people.

Selam sevgili "Karabatak" !
Heybeliada demesen, pekala Eskişehir Odunpazarı, ya da Bursa Cumalıkızık da olabilir !
Nefis bir kadraj, ama ne yazıkkı bu evler de artık yolun sonuna gelmişler !
Tebrikler
Selam ve sevgiler

Merhaba Salvator Bey, eski evin turkuvaza çalan mavi tonuyla gökyüzünün mavi rengi birbirini çok güzel tamamlamış. Heybeliada'nın sade güzelliklerinden birini üstün bir görüntü kalitesiyle sunmuşsunuz bizlere. Elinize sağlık.

Salvator,
This is a ncie shot of this colorful old house. The angle of the shot works well giving he scene depth and direction. The people add a sense of scale for the scene. The lighting and colors are fine with nice sharpness and detail.
TFS,

Oh, Salvator,
this is fantastic! Everything... The diagonal line, the beautiful colors and details, composition. I love the light, and the colors and details of the buildings and that lone tree. The lines of the buildings are so perfectly straight, too. Wonderfully done! Many thanks and kindest wishes,
Shelly

and back to homeland and especially in Χάλκη.I visited the Summer of 2006 and i must say that i'm impressed from the houses and that is forbidden cars like Ydra a GreeK island.I like the perspective and the POV of the scene with the old house to stand so proud of the passing by of the years.Well done.

What a wonderful house, what a beautiful picture and what a name on an Island.
the red Minaret in the BG adds good contrast to the turquise house

hi salvator,
i like how you presented this capture, the old ancestral house cantrally-placed, its details seen well including the peeling-off paint portions. the lovey-dovey couple of course, is "rightful" to be there, contributing to the charm, the clear day as well, and then i see all around is immaculately clean!
cheers, mehmet
