Photographer’s Note

On 10th of May there was the feast of SS. Crocifisso a Mazzarino (CL), which recalls a miraculous: many years ago, two thieves entered in the Church dedicated to Our Madonna of Grace with the intention of stealing a precious crucifix kept in it, but a great elm, miraculously grew in front of the door of the Church, prevented them from escaping.
The festivities include the procession of the SS. Crucified, the place for the event within a cell supported by two boards of wood, decorated with yellow daisies and transported to the streets from a hundred comparing barefoot followed by the faithful (in the WS the passage of the simulacre).
The local band fills the event with its festive music.

che belle facce allegre e (alcune) rubiconde!
queste istantanee "musicali" ti riescono sempre molto bene. qui, nonostante la luce antipatica (perlomeno a me qs. tipo di luce sta antipatica...) sei riuscito a bloccare un momento in cui i suonatori ci offrono tutti dei gesti e delle espressioni simpatiche.
molto bello poi il colpo d'occhio delle camicie azzurre...

personalmente a me le bande musicali non sono mai piaciute.
L'insieme dei suonatori qui però è ben immortalato e il contrasto tra le camicie azzurre e le trombe dorate è molto piacevole.
Peccato per il suonatore in primo piano che da come si tocca il naso, sembra sentire cattivo odore :))

That's a lovely, pleasant, colorful, attractive, lively and truly beautiful picture! A real great catch of daily life and special moment! Sharpness, exposure and pov are excellent! The image was also cleverly composed! Faces are all already different, but here each one has a completely different look and they all really appear wonderful in this band!

Hi, Giorgio. A good vertical format showing quite a few members of the band and many different expressions. I like the contrast between the different faces, some being concentrated on their scores while others are laughing. Good unity of tones and the uniforms give a graphic aspect to the picture.

What an image!
The repetition of fihures, almost up to the infinite creates an atmosphere labyrintical, dizzying and hypnotic.
Seems one of the books in which you have to find the figure of Wally, the boy with the white and red shirt.
Very curious.

Ma guarda un po' come se la stanno ridendo di gusto alcuni di questi suonatori! E' una foto che mette allegria, anche perchè é così varia e vivace! E poi mi piace molto lo strambo riflesso bianco sulle loro camice azzurre. Come se ciascuno di loro avesse addosso un pezzetto di cielo screziato di nuvole. Bel colpo, Giorgio!

Il taglio dell'immagine denota una buona tecnica compositiva per rendere tutto più piacevole ed interessante. Stupendo gioco di luci e ombre sulle divise che enfatizza i contrasti luminosi. Curioso notare che nonostante tutti suonino la stessa musica, non c'è una espressione del viso uguale all'altra. Una foto da gustare pixel per pixel, bravissimo!

Come sono simpatici, come sono tutti concentrati nel loro ruolo! E' praticamente una sommatoria di ritratti. Il POV è perfetto, lo hai azzeccato.

A great capture! It can be "read" in two ways and in any of them it is achieved: the ensemble makes a catchy pattern, with all those faces, hats and shirts, but we can also appreciate each of the elements individually. I like specially the mix of order and relaxed, well humoured attitude of the group.

Questa nuova versione di trekearth mette in grande risalto nelle miniature gli scatti verticali ai quali riserva un più ampio apazio.
Nelle gallerie i verticali balzano subito all'occhio e questo vivace assembramento rivela subito la dinamicità della scena e la precisa scelta di taglio e composizione...il tuo livello è sempre molto alto Giorgio, c'è molta esperienza non solo passione.
Mi piacciono i lavori che hai fatto "sulla musica"...nei dintorni d'estate ci sono parecchi concerti jazz ... mi piacerebbe avere una macchina fotografica e un'ottica adatta.

i love this shot, which I came upon accidentally, of the celebration of SS. Crocifisso a Mazzarino. The crowd of musicians in identical blue gar, their individual expressions, that they are unaware of being photographed... all collaborate to make this a memorable shot. It's too bad that the sounds were not recorded to accompany the image.
