Photographer’s Note
Theatre in the Window.
Two windows in one of the tenements along Długa (Long) Street in the old city of Gdańsk are changed into theatre with some single actors performing. If there is no spectacle some exquisite mannequins in richly adorned dresses fills the gaps of both windows. One feminine and one masculine.

" Teatr twoj widze ogromny Polterka, a w nim, na scenie - postaci, a ludzi roznych roznistych cala kupa...! "
Tak napisalem kiedys oz jednym z twoich cudeniek scenicznych, Tereniu.
Ale teraz musze napisac ze przy teatrze zostalas, jeno ze w de fickle coquette poszłas. I w dekoracje.

amazing how you managed to put life into this showcase shot (something that I'm not a great fan at all in general), surprising to discover such languish, tired and inspired looks in her eyes and you made an inspired portrait !
... very sophisticated photography, bravo !

Hi Teresa,
This is sublimely creepy. Sort of like Marilyn Manson and the girl in "The Exorcist" (without the sores and vomit, of course}. I had no idea if she was real in the thumbnail. When I worked in a store, sometimes the mannequins would be moved, or posed different than how I left them. I tired to snap my own, but they were bad.
This one is really good.

Hi Polter,
Excellent! Very exquisite manequin surely a great subject to photograph and you did it beautifuly. The windows reflection add an interesting touch as if she was only a projection. Great B&W.

the world as mortal people can see, and the world a photographer can show... they are so different, if the photographer has that qualified eye, which cathces the details of that invisible world. besides the creativity of this photo, i get a solemnly nostalgic feeling, i guess, especially due to that sad look of the dummy.
