Photographer’s Note

Another shot from yesterdays visit to the Singapore Zoo.

My first stop at the zoo is always the White Tiger exhibit as they're just such a majestic and photogenic animal. They seemed to just be waking up for the day as they leisurely laid about their favorite rock.

The one thing I try to do with my shots is make them something different from the norm. You can only imagine how many million of times these White Tigers have been photographed- so what can you do to make yours stand out from the usual 'happy snap'. The main thing I always try and focus on is the eyes. If you don't have the eyes sharp and in focus, nothing else really matters. The other thing I go for is interaction between the tigers (or any animal)., this shot gave me just that...
Fair enough, they're not easy shots to get- it's all about waiting, and waiting, and waiting- and when that brief opportunity arrives- take full advantage of it!

What an extremely soothing moment captured here. Yesterday it looked like the one in the BG was going to attack the one on the FG (what big teeth you have, grandma)! and today it's tenderness.

Hi Daniel, They certainly are beautiful animals and the moat idea so you don't need to peer through bars is a very good improvement on the old style of zoos. Your zoom series is magnificent, sharp and well coloured. Good series. TFS. Murray.

Yes this is my fav over the two lion shots posted Dan. There seems to be a special bond between these two and your capture here most certainly caught that moment. Very nice photo Dan.
