Photographer’s Note
At 9 p.m. on a beautiful Spring evening, a lone angler fishes the upper reaches of the River Clyde at Thankerton.
A favourite spot of mine, I liked the low warm sun as it lit the yellow broom, the trees and, of course, the village of Thankerton and Tinto Hill in the distance.
I increased the ISO to 400 for this one which was shot in RAW and converted and edited in PSE6.

Hi John,
Impossible to say anything other than, brilliant capture.
The colours in this warm evening light are truly wonderful.
Superb POV and composition. I like the explanation of the fisherman, he looks like a tree stump rather than a person.
A superb image.

Peter

Hi John,
This is amazing with lighting that is just brilliant. Warm feeling looking at this image. The inclusion of the river against such vibrancy in the sky making it so well balanced.
TFS and best regards,
Jusni

Hello John,
Another shot from one of your favourite places. It's no wonder that you keep returning here.
That line of trees and the little lane at the left, that I don't remember seeing in previous shots, makes a powerful lead into the picture, as of course does the river on the right side.
The warm light and the evening sky gives a restful feel to the whole image, while the angler and his reflection in the still water add a pleasing touch to the composition.
Kind regards,
Peter.

Hi John!
Lovely evening shot! Great textures to the upper sky. What a beautiful spot, and you have done a great job of framing it in such a pleasing way. Nice work! Cheers,

Hi John,
What a beautiful evening and very nicely captured. I find the whole shot really peaceful and I particularly like the texture of the grass in the field off the right bank of the river. Can I ask why you changed the ISO to 400?
Many thanks,
Stephen

Hi John,
A very pleasing composition, with this strong diagonal along the river and line of trees. The warm colours are very attractive. Indeed a beautiful place!
Kind regards
Gunnar
