Photographer’s Note
Alexander Column on Palace Square in St-Petersburg is one of the most widely known landmarks of the city; angel with a cross on the top of the column are considered to be the angel-protector of the city.
On this photo one can see the real size of the Column, as a joint military orchestra during the V-Day parade repetition are marching near it.

My 1000-th photo is getting nigh, and hell if I know what it'll be. It have to be something special - but what?
I really don't know.

Hallo from warm (24°C) and sunny Germany!
Good to see that the angel is much more bigger than these soldiers. You show us a really imposing statue here. These proportions really are stunning and this column is silhouetted in an amazing way from the surroundings by its colour. An interesting picture...
Greetings!

Hello Uhu,
Nice photo,pleasant colouring.
I know that this Palace Square is large, when I looked and seen the troops in far right I get some sort of idea how large it is.
For your 1,000 post?
Like myself, not too big on people, but some nice ladies walking on the park or shopping areas are sure to be a winner.
Just a thought.
Regards
Robert
