Photographer’s Note
This was our first really warm day this year, so I said goodbye to housework and raced to the nearest park. Spent the afternoon relaxing and shooting birds.

Ciao dear Karen,
Yes, this image is really symbolic of the sprintime! The small bird, the buds on the tree and above all the beautiful blue color of the sky, all speaks about the spring. You have done really a pleasant composition, compliments!
Ciao, have a nice Sunday!

“shooting birds”... I hope they are all well and alive!!!
The photo is a nice tribute to spring but lacks a bit more of sharpness.

Hello Karen
Superb use of a shallow dof, with adequate sharpness & colour on the bird. The eye is reasonably sharp, even if the rest isn't, & that is the part that really counts, imho. The blue sky makes a fine backdrop. Have a good weekend!

Hi Karen,
I like this capture - good use of shallow depth of field to emphasize the main subject. Nice light and colors. TFS. Gerald

Hi Karen.
There aren't many bird shots on TE, and I think that's a pity, although I know some people prefer to see them on TL. This one is delightful, with the bird's eyes very sharply defined. I like the fact that the bird's colouring matches the budded twig on the left. Lovely blue sky and delicate shadowing on the bird.

Andrew

Hello Karen
You had a good luminosity which gave attractive colors and a lovely bird...
I don't think it is a good idea to use a tripod for a moving subject !
I have done a simple ws to increase the sharpness and hope you don't mind ;)
Cheers

Hello Karen:
Such animals, as active and dynamic, are not easy to grasp, but here, we count on luck and chance, can photograph in an ideal position, with a good zoom and a large frame.
Perhaps the only downside is it takes a bit of sharpness. Maybe the bird was moving very often, so they believe, could use a shot much faster than 1 / 500

An excellent piece of nature photography. You've captured the bird's image without scaring it off. The composition, with the branch on which it is perched, makes a very good diagonal structure for the shot.
Warm regards,
Bulent

Hi Karen,
Beautiful bird portrait. Great colors.
The sharpness is perhaps 1 cm away in the tree on the left.
