Photographer’s Note
The hotel we were staying at is joined to the aquarium by an air conditioned walkway which flanks the very large KL Convention Centre, so that one can walk in comfort for about five minutes towards this fabulous aquarium close to the Petronas towers.
I have taken several photos of the fishes in the aquarium and some of the visitors' reactions.I chose this one because of the fascination displayed by both children and adults.
S.O.S.- Can someone tell me how to initiate a travelogue.I have tried a number of times, but with no luck.I would like to cover my recent trip in a travelogue, as I have much to write about.
As far as the image is concerned, it was a most difficult environment in which to take a photo. A tripod was impractical as the human traffic was a hindrance. The NO Flashlight rule was strictly enforced and anyway, the reflection on the glass would render the photo useless. Regardless of it all, I wanted to share at least one image from this excellent aquarium.
The official site reads thus:
Aquaria KLCC, the only state-of the art 60,000 sq. ft. aquarium,is right in the heart of beautiful Kuala Lumpur City.
An excellent destination to visit and designed based on the “Journey of Water”, we have undertaken considerable measures to make this wonderful aquarium as educational and experiential as possible and also
ensuring visitor’s comfort.
Key highlights include the unique DNA Touch Pool with Bamboo Sharks, Horseshoe Crabs and starfish, a giant size tube tank a Flooded Forest, Coastal section, a 1.2 million litre “Living Ocean” which houses most of the large marine animals and a Weird and Wonderful
section . With interactive programs and audio/visual projections and plasma TVs installed throughout the aquarium, learning more about the Electric Eel, Piranhas and many other land and marine animals is available as close as possible to one’s own pace.
The aquarium is also home to more than 6 species of sharks including the Sand Tiger,Black Tip, Leopard and Tawny Nurse Sharks. Enjoy the admiration of our magnificent giant Blotched Fantail Ray and Giant Grouper when they feed from the hands of in-house diving team during scheduled feeding times and the Aquatheatre.
Besides a retail outlet (Atlantis) for getting the most memorable gifts on Aquaria KLCC, a visit to
our newly opened Education Centre that is currently featuring and promoting awareness about Seahorses and also the corals at Mersing Islands of Johor is a must.
To complete the experience, visitors can also get a go at having the feet checked out by the popular Garra rufa at the Aquazone Fish Therapy Centre located adjacent to the exit of the Atlantis retail outlet. An entrance fee is applicable for this section.

dear Klaudio,
a very interesting scene you took!
really the fish looks watching and observing the human children there, from in the water through the thick glass.
the lighting makes a little mysterious air in this shot.
thank you for your excellent capturing,
Akihisa

Hello Klaudio,
I am impressed by the quality of this photo wich such exposure!
it's very difficult to take photos in or of an aquarium (because of the special lighting and also because of the fishes which move constantly from place to place).
And here you've managed everything really very well! the children, the fishes... the motion!
Nice scene. Perhaps I should think of taking photos of people in an aquarium, too, when I am there next time? :)
Best regards,
Elena

Kako si Klaudio bey! (Going Turkish tonight)
How do you keey it steady at such slow shutter speed? The sharpness of the Girl's ponytail by far overshadows the slight blur. Great work
Thanks for sharing
