This panorama is a stich of 13 vertical shots @ 15mm.

Eze is a small village near the Mediteranean sea in the very south east of France (click here for more informations). These photos have been shot about 700 meters high above the sea. On the right, you can see the Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat peninsula.

Loic,
the beauty of this shot lays in all its simplicity. The view over the red roofs into the distance with a blurr between sky and sea is very nice. The detail of the tower and its bell quite off center shows that it sin't just a snapshot but a person that understands about making the shot.
So if this is a stitch of 13 vertical shots at 15mm that must be almost a 180 degree image. Is that right? Man, the execution is flawless. Looking into the image I never would have suspected that this is a stitch, only after reading your note.

One of my the most favourite places in France. I visited Eze twice - in 2000 and in 2001. This is really wonderful place. Your photo is splendid, no doubt.

Hi Loic,

13 Photos!!!! Your technique is surely flawless, I would never have guessed and the effect is impressive, but I have to ask why 13 shots? Unless something is deceiving me I swear I could capture this in one shot at ~11mm with the wide angle, so why take 13 photos?

Anyway, I must say I'm impressed, the outcome is beautiful and very well composed - also, I can't see a single seam for looking!

Encore un de tes superbes montages! Ce patchwork de tuiles romaines sur fond de Méditerranée est une spleudeur. Tes couleurs sont parfaitement saturées. Quelle vue!

a splendid view! I like especially the contrast between the roofs in foreground, it's texture and the sea in background with the haze at the horizon without a clear border between sea and sky... great shot!

j'adore cette vue avec son premier plan de toits rouges dont les lignes sont enchevêtrées les unes dans les autres,et la mer brumeuse qui donne ue très belle douceur à la photo!Le ciel est magnifique!Je ne connais pas ce village de Provence,mais ça me donne vraiment envie de le visiter!

Tu te lances dans les Didiades maintenant ? Bon assemblage et des toits de tuiles chaudes qui trahissent le coin, le petit clocher est bien pose dans l'angle pour que la vue vers l'infini soit libre.

Magnifique contre-jour bien exposé; on dirait que tu avais grimpé sur un toit :)
Cependant je suis étonné par l'utilisation de la focale au 15 mm, normalement le champ pouvait être entièrement inclu en une seule image, bizarroïde et étrangeoïdal.

Salut Loïc,
Merci d'afficher les informations sur l'appareil, l'objectif et les réglages. Qu'est-ce que ça manque dans cette nouvelle version de TE.
Magnifique assemblage très bien composé avec ce petit clocher et les tuiles bien rouges qui s'associent bien avec le bleu de la mer. J'apprécie aussi la bonne exposition de l'ensemble et sa belle netteté.

bravo pour ce magnifique post-cadrage (et le montage).
Je tend à tout assembler moi aussi et je trouve cela très intéressant, outre le fait d'avoir suffisamment de pixel pour des gros agrandissements, de (re)-trouver le velouté des plus longues focales que l'on pouvait utiliser en moyen-format (même si là, ca reste seulement du 15mm). Couplé à du braketing->fusion HDR -> tonemapping lors d'éclairages disparates, c'est la panacée !

ce cadrage est élégant et très intéressant graphiquement, grâce à ton point de vue au-dessus des toits, le petit clocher et le panorama immense de la côte et de la mer que nous voyons dans l'arrière-plan.

Bonjour, Loïc. Quel formidable avant-plan. Ici, on peut admirer les magnifiques tuiles romaines qui sont un vrai régal. Des tons orangés et bruns qui vont si bien ensemble et donnent une très belle unité à ces toits. Le clocheton est très bien placé et se détache sur la mer. Quant à l'assemblage, c'est une vraie réussite. Une exposition bien gérée avec un bon équilibre entre hautes et basses lumières.

Bonjour Loic,

Un assemblage des quinze photos qui est réussi. la prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs de la structure de ces toits. Elle dirige aussi notre regard vers l'horizon ce qui donne de la profondeur à la photo. Ce beau ciel envoie une lumière qui donne de belles teintes aux couleurs de l'image. Bonne journée.

one of my dreams is to visit this region (hopefully with good weather...) and this photo of yours is a very tempting sneak preview =)
it's really an amazing view and an incredible landscape.
I was reading your replies to the question "why 13 shots" - it must be one hell of a job, but I see it's definitely worth it.
the colours and the light are definitely Mediterranean - the roofs and roof tiles being an essential part of what makes, in my eyes, a Mediterranean atmosphere.
I really like this shot - it makes me want to jump on the next plane to France and get there =)

13 photos pour réaliser cette image, ça a du être un sacré boulot d'assembler tout ça ! Très réussi en tout cas. Tu es monté sur les toits pour avoir ce beau point de vue ? lol Belles couleurs chaudes des tuiles et de la pierre de ce petit clcocher, un beau ciel nuageux, la mer et le ciel qui fusionnent à l'horizon, très sympa tout ça.

Tu me sembles tout aussi à l'aise dans le sud que dans notre belle Bretagne. J'aime ce clocher carré et ce petit air Grec que prend cette photo. Au loin les îlots évoquent la Caldera de Santorin et j'aime aussi beaucoup les toits rouges qui illuminent l'ensemble.

RU sure it were 13 vertical shots?
What a impressive work! I am not sur if I like the clocktower and the hill on the left so dark as it appears on my screen. I do like the seamless fade of the horizon from sea to sky. POV is fantastic.
Well I have just returned from Brittany and will post some nice views from mainly the Crozon area in the next couple of days. Weather was fantastic and la cote, la mer et le ciel were unbeatable - as usual.
Maybe we can organize a TE Crozon Photographic Hike some day. THere are so many fantastic sceneries to discover.

je ne sais pas si ta belle cote bretonne ait quou qe ce soit à la fameuse cote d'azur, mais là, tu as su trouvé un superbe plan !! la vue rasante sur la tuile, ce clocher et les coté au lointain en font une bien belle composition.

une photo qui mérite ampelment son succès, cela s'explique sans doute par ce savoureux mariage entre les rouges et les bleus, mais aussi cet effet de brume qui adoucit l'horizon.
