[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Ernesto "Che" Guevara is one of the big heros of the Cuban people and as such there a photos, pictures etc of him all over Cuba. I found this postcard stand amusing as every single postcard had El Che on it. I took it as a B&W shot as all the postcards were already in B&W and I found the colours in the background distracting.

Brightness and contrast adjusted and sharpened using USM.

no comment. This one is a great job ! Congratulation !

..and it's not just propaganda, the people of Cuba genuinely remember him fondly, and appreciate what he did for the revolution, in a way that they don't for Castro, even the pro-revolutionary ones. Though it's esay to look back fondly on someone who died over 35 years ago. Interesing observation in this shot.

Interesting how Che Guevarra is popular there...but he is in most of teh Carribean, isn't he? Good decision to have this in BW...it is more straighforward.

Hi Francis
Great idea for a shot, it works very well. I think the empty slot in the display adds to the image.

When I was in Cuba a couple of years ago I met a British photographer, Keith Cardwell, who had met and photographed the guy who took most of these famous Che photos, Alberto Korda
He has a great pic of Korda sitting in front of the famous Che pic that hangs on the wall in his house.

Unfortunately Keith’s web site seems to be off line (www.keithcardwell.com) but here is a site with some of his other pics on, Keiths are the B&W ones at the top of the page.
Cardwell Pics

A good record of detail found in Cuba. During my visit there i purchased a postcard of Che using an SLR. So this photo brought back memories.

great job..wish i could flood you with points...
