Road to Jaldhaka Photo

Photographer’s Note

In my last post I mentioned about the beautiful little place called Jaldhaka in the Himalayan foothills of West Bengal.
This picture was shot at Khunia More on NH 31. The single lane road to Jaldhaka goes through the Chapramari Wildlife Sanctuary. If one is lucky enough one can get glimpses of wildlife along the way.

Hi Nabarun,

This teaches me about the world, because of what it is not. This shot could have been taken anywhere in Europe, the road post could have been French...yet this unspectacular road leads to a place which IS spectacular and very un-European. Strange...
