Photographer’s Note
Today we went to Den Haag for a visit to The Japanese Garden in Clingendael Park. Unfortunally 1000's of other people had the same idea ;-))
Still we could enjoy this wonderfulplace and share with you one of the most eyecatching features:this redbridge. I just love the contrast between the strong red and of the soft colors of the plants. It take some time to get this pic because it was a very dark day (that's why i choose ISO 800) but the most difficut was to get a moment that there were no people at the bridge!
History
This gareden was created in the beginning of the 20th century by the former owner of the country estate of Clingendael, Marguérite M. Baroness van Brienen (1871-1939), also called Lady Daisy. Lady Daisy sailed off a number of times by ship to Japan and brought back to the Netherlands a number of lanterns, a water cask, sculptures, the pavilion, the little bridges and several plants. The original design with the serene pond, meandering brook and the winding pathways has remained intact all these years.
The Municipality of The Hague has always taken great care of the Japanese Garden because of its uniqueness and tremendous historical value. The garden was placed on the list of national historical monuments in 2001. Due to its fragility, the garden can be visited only during a short period of the year.

It's a great, colourful pic, especially the red bridge, I was surprised to see such graden in Germany but now I can see you've got it also in Holland.
Fortunaltely we can't see 1000s here:))))

Hello Kik,
Wonderful composed and colourful garden.
The red bridge (even the reflection is more red than the fish) with the dark water under it and the dark trunks on the background stands out in that part of the garden.
You probably will have to wait a very long time to shoot this picture if all the 1000 other visitors had to walk over that bridge :)
Best regards, Paul

Bonjour,
astucieux jeux de couleurs et de reflets. La cadrage très efficace doublé d'un format verticla très approprié au rende de cette scène tranquille dont l'aime les teintes et les lumières.
Amicalement.

That's an amazin work Kikks. Despite being located in the Netherlands, you can feel yourself in one of the Japanese imperial gardens. The time of those purple coloured flowers (just near the bridge) has already passed in Lisbon. In March and April, the gardens were full of them. Congratulations for such an amazing view. You can use it as a page in an annual calender.
Best regards, Tolga

ah, this is so nice :) the red is just the right colour to stand out against the greens and blues of the garden, and I like a lot how you have composed the photo with the curves of the water leading the eye towards the bridge. great shot, my compliments.
best,
Kristine

Hi, Kik,
The colors in this image are astounding. The red bridge, the green fern, the pink maple, and the purple wisteria jump off my computer screen.
Your composition is excellent, with strong elements that guide the eye's movement in a gentle arc in midframe (maple, wisteria, bridge) complemented nicely by the strong foreground fern to serve as a visual anchor in the lower right.
The reflections off of the pond effectively complete the harmony of the image.
Very well done! Congratulations!
