Photographer’s Note
Hi Everyone,
This photo is from the opening ceremony for the Infinity Bridge in Stockton. The foot bridge has taken 18 months to construct at a cost of £15 million and spans the river Tees, connecting the south shore to the north shore.
The event was spectacular to watch with special lighting in place to illuminate the whole bridge in different colour phases. There were also 'Runners' who scaled the arches and lit flares at the top followed by a firework display.
for shooting the display I used an exposure time of 8 seconds to make sure I caught some firework trails, this means I had to adjust my f-stop to f10 to gain the right exposure. As always when shooting scenes involving fireworks, it can be a bit 'hit and miss' as to whether you capture a good image so the advice I would offer is to take LOTS of photos.
Thanks for looking,
Paul.

Hello Paul,
A well composed fine image with the gentle curves of the bridge well rendered against a dark blue sky and the festive firework well placed.

Paul

Hello Paul,
Great night shot. I like the way the curved lines of the bridge lead us to the fireworks on the left side of the frame. The vivid colors are very nice, too. They really jump out against the black, night sky.

Paul
A spectacular night shot. Your exposure time has been just right to capture the fireworks to good effect. The illuminated bridge stands out nicely against the dark sky.
