Photographer’s Note

Growing pineapples along the caldera slopes of Taal volcano.

I took this photo just this morning. The light was great, lighting the clear slopes of the old crater and the pineapple plantation before me and the perfect cloud formation. The only challenge was crossing the dangerous highway with speeding cars and trucks and choosing the best spot. Crossed back to the other side of the highway to get tripod then I realized I forgot to bring the connector for the tripod, silly me. Crossed the dangerous highway again to the chosen spot and took the shot at the edge of the ridge while vehicles sped by two feet behind me and spent some time just enjoying the view and hoping someone will come out of the house. No luck this time...

The bright features at the right portion of the lake are fish pens. Somehow, the fishes have adapted to live in this sulfuric environment.
