Just a reminder of winter... and a small reminder of my existence to the TE community :)

Work is taking literally ALL my time in the last months... no time for photography currently, so here is one from the archives, taken in an archetypical Dutch village of Rijpwetering, and featuring archetypical (but not seen so often nowadays) Dutch winter landscape.

A perfect winter scene! Extremely sharp details and amazing light combined with those wonderful colors all creating a very attractive composition. It reminds me of those classical postcards.

Hello Alexander,

Superbe image ou le froid est très présent. J'aime beaucoup la perspective qui s'étend à l'horizon. La maison au bord du canal a beaucoup de charme.
Dommage pour le ruban roue et blanc qui perturbe quelque peu l'image.

Hi Aleksander, nice to see this new upload from you. A fine winter impression from your archives, with a good deep perspective along the icy patches towards the windmill in the back. Good crisp details, vivid colors, and I like the way in which the reflecions amplify the seasonal atmosphere.

A frozen canal. A great and also surprising view at this time of spring. Plenty of nice details: reflections on shiny ice, frost on trees and the windmill in background.

Very lovely landscape of the winter scenery with this icy road! I see the ribbons to mark the icy road off the limits.

Hallo Alexander,

Dit is zeer fraai, een heel mooi winters landschap. Een zeer scherpe lucht, mooi diepblauw opgetekent en ook vooral hoe het huis en de bevroren takken van de boom hier tegenaf steken. Tevens is het perspectief heel erg mooi opgezet en met veel diepte neergezet met aan het eind een molen...mooier en Hollandser kan het bijna niet.
Een zeer goede foto...vakwerk.

A very appealing composition captured under a beautiful winter light. I like the reflections in the frozen canal and the long perspective towards the windmill. Very good natural colours and excellent clarity. I find the wide frame a little obtrusive but all a matter of personal taste.

This is a beautiful winter scene. Your composition is great using the frozen canal to lead the eye past the house to the windmill. The lighting and colors are great with excellent sharpness and DOF. The frosted branches make the tree have the appearance of blooming creating nice contrast to the deep blue sky.

A rare treat from you. I'm glad you haven't dropped out completely and that I picked this up as the gallery floated past. Mind you, it would be hard to miss with those lovely blue tones and crystal sharpness. It looks as though some kind of road block tape has fallen over. The beautiful light, the reflection on the icy road, and the long view down to the windmill make this a terrific photo. Great 'work'.

nice to see this you're back! The scene has an interesting atmosphere, like a painting, some of those childish paintings, beautiful and has a special nostalgic atmosphere and a perfect illumination. Interesting memory of previous winter.

I've been away from TE for nearly 8 months and just got to posting this week. It's nice to see that you're still around even if you're also submerged by your work. The picture's great, even if it's no longer the winter season. I like the icy ground and the perspective on the left that invites us to go towards the windmill. I've heard that one can do some iceskating here in the winter...

Fantastic photo, great blending of traditional and beautiful architecture with a great capture of nature! Excellent composition and framing, great perspective, great depth of field, we can even see a windmill in the background! Excellent light managment, wonderful reflection on ice (?), brilliant colours! congratulations!
