Sunrise over Monterey Photo

Photographer’s Note

I took this picture looking north east from the Presidio of Monterey. Originally there were some lights in the bottom of the picture but I thought they were a little distracting and took them out using Photoshop.

I am very new to photography but it's always been something that I've wanted to do. Just haven't really had the time or money to invest in it until now. I appreciate any constructive criticism you have to offer.

Welcome to TE !
Well for a start it's not bad at all, you already found out that by getting up early you could capture some privileged moments such as here the subtle sky warming tones above the trees against which they are contrasting in a nice way. It was a good idea to crop the lights away.
