Canada is truly a country outside the norm, everything is bigger. The American way of life is always present. Cars that seem big in France are the norm here. You crosse some non-standard that can only run on Canadian roads builded for such vehicles.
By seeing how the suburbs spread around the major cities, I wonder how Canada while manage the shortage of petrol. Unlike France, the suburbs are widely spaced, filled with green trees and parcs. There is no tower in the suburbs, urban planning appears much more humane than it is in France. For how long ?
