Photographer’s Note

I like portraits and landscapes,here you have both.
On my way back from a temple,situated very high on a hill I saw these pilgrims carrying a lot of stuff to prepare a celebration in the temple.
I don`t know the name of this place ,but it`s close to the city Nagercoil in Tamil Nadu.

I think that you shot an excellent photo with the portraits of the working people in FG and the beautiful landscape in BG. Lovely colors, very well chosen POV, very good DOF, a nice composition of daily life in India.

Guten abend Andreas,

Indeed a very good combination of both elements in landscapes and people. Seems it's a busy highway those people are walking on and you walked a bit with them during their heavy work. That large green bucket is superb in the colour toning (did you wait for that guy to become in front?), but also the orange clothings they are wearing is very good on the contrast with the surrounding landscape....a real good one.

There many reasons to like this photo. The landscape here is very beautiful and the line of people gives a natural depth to the composition. The colours are fantastic, especially the green pail! A memorable photo!

Hi Andreas, These stone stairs to the temple and the people going bare foot remind me the way in Sravanabelagola. Have you also taken your shoes off? I remember hot stones! Are they jinnists? This green jar looks very attractive here, nice contrast with the orange cloth. Nice picture. Very pleasant combination of the triple portrait and interesting landscape.

Hi, Leo. A good shot for different reasons. The portrait of these people carrying heavy things is interesting from a compositional point of view because it shows them in a diagonal line pointing towards the background. The view you get from the hill is very nice and the bushes on the right add contrast and depth to the image. Maybe the flash would have helped to lighten the man's eyes, but from what I read in your discussion with Henk, you had to react very quickly.

Belle scène de la vie quotidienne la-bas et excellente perspective. La composition et la disposition des personnage est très intéressante. Ils sont vraiment habiles pour transporter du matériel sur leur tête, j'ai essayer lors de mes dernières vacances mais je n'ai pas fais deux mètres. Bonne note et excellent rendu des couleurs.

really, this photo presents us a very interesting perspective view, with people being an integral part of it; walking one by one, they diminish in size... The balance of the composition is excellent! and the view behing these people shows an endless land which almost merges with the sky at the horizon.

I love the POV with all the people climbing up the stairs towards you and the wide landscape behind. Colours are so great with the orange in particular. A great one.

Oh....während meiner Pause hab ich hier wohl so einiges verpasst, ich seh gleich Seitenweise neue Bilder in deiner Galerie und auch, dass dein Mrauk U die 500 geknackt hat....meine Glückwünsche! Aber auch dieses Indien Bild finde ich toll; ein bisschen Daily Life gemischt mit einer schönen Landschaftsaufnahme, sehr schön. Hier hast du genau im richtigen Moment angedrückt und somit das wohl so zimlich best mögliche aus dieser Szene herausgeholt !

A perfect timing on these people coming towards you with their loads... the man in front had notice you and I like the way he was looking at you. The BG offers a pleasant scenery and there is a good sense of depth...colors are well rendered too!

Comme tu le dis si on aime le portrait et le paysage ici on est servi. J'aime ces trois portraits de pèlerins qui marchent sur un sentier étroit et escarpé. Le paysage dominé est superbe.

Sehr schönes und farbenfrohes Bild, Leo. Tatsächlich ist die Mischung zwischen Landschaftsfotografie und dem Marsch der Pilger sehr ansprechend. Du hast in einem guten Moment auf den Auslöser gedrückt, der Herr im Vordergrund mit der grünen Vase ist ein idealer Blickfang für diese Szene (und Szenerie). Das Auge des Betrachters wandert entlang der Stufen und der weiteren Pilger, was dem Ganzen Tiefe verleiht. Gute Arbeit, in der Tat "zwei Fotos zum Preis von einem" :o)
