Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken during a lovely evening in the SW corner of the Isle of Wight.
Originally i had come here to take photos of the pink thrift on the cliff top, but this gate caught my eye, so i decided to use it in one of the photos.
You can still see the pink thrift in the gap in the gate :-)
The view itself is looking Northwest along the Islands west coast, you can even just about make out the needles at the far left hand point of the island.
ISO 160
I used an ND8 Graduated filter

Hello Jamie, neighbour,
This is a stunning shot.
It resembles the fine qualities of thoughtful painting.
The slightly angled view of the stile gives a nice f/g triangle and it is so pleasing to view the rest of the shot through the frame of the uprights.
Lovely warm colours and a tranquil, end-of-day atmosphere.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Jamie,
The lights are beautiful, as the warm colours. I also like the composition, with excellent point of view. Perfect job...

Hi Jamie, I love this photo because it's not just a "beautiful sunset shot". The gate adds real interest, although I'd have loved to have seen it slightly further to the right of the frame. Anyways, that's just me. The photo is beautifuly metered and the image sharp. You done a great job here, TFS, Lisa

Hi Jamie,
You have a consistent qualtiy on your images which i can appreciate. Dedidation in getting up early or staying late for the best possible light, dediaction that i like to see from a landscaper.
Here you have a real good balance in colour, light and detail, but most of all in the composition. That gate in the foreground does the trick and the orange glow what lies over the image is beautiful, especially against the deep green on the bottom.
A real good one....excellent work.

Henk

bonjour,
je découvre ta magnifique galerie. Bravo
Utilises tu des filtres dégradés ?

ps: le soleil n'interdit pas la photo une fois les 10° d'altitude passés dans le ciel ;-)
