Photographer’s Note
The last shot of the day. This is Puaena Point located just outside Haleiwa Beach Park in Haleiwa, Hawaii, USA. This is a great spot to learn to surf as the waves are much more tame than at many other North Shore surf breaks. Even though this is a very long exposure, you can tell that the wave action is muted here while at the point in the background, the waves were breaking with about 5-6 foot faces. This is the location where I caught my first wave...it was fantastic.
