Photographer’s Note

Evenings are a good time to take a capture on the seafront as the side light really illuminates everything. That evening, like quite a few others this long winter, was a riny one and I thought it would be a waste of time to prolong my stay as it was drizzling and rather chilly. Suddenly the rain stopped and the clouds broke right in the west to allow that wonderful light illuminate everything. I thought it was great and here it is for you to enjoy.

This vew of a seafront is very well impressive with this superb sky especially. Very impressive but very nice too with a great prospect, superb reflections of the houses and the sky in the sea and good balance in the composition. The coloured houses arise very well in the image.

Hi Argiris,
I like the composition but in my view you have been too far with the PP, even though accentuating the contrast was the thing to do to add dramatism to the scen, the point is that now it sadly does not look natural anymore.

Well the touch of red shines very much for me to see all the way in Malaysia. The strong pp work really make the red stands out nicely.

Spectacular lighting conditions in this image, a product of selective lighting of the shoreline, and those clouds best described by the expression in Turkish, "sikintili hava" (distressed weather). The red is evocative of a "chop mark" that you see in Chinese scroll paintings. Fabulous!

in this your high contrasted photo-space, I can feel the basic darkness of the world.
yellow lighted buildings and boats look surrounded by black cloud and dark sea, and especially their shadows under themselves...
that darkness maybe connect the black side of the universe, but it is the fact that basic darkness makes the light world actually, I think so when viewing this your beautiful shot.

Argiris, this one works for me too, the darkness, the contrast and the oversaturated colors are superb, more painting like than photo like. The reflection is really fine with the water texture changing in the middle of the harbor, great work.
