Photographer’s Note
Yazd is a city in central Iran. In the middle of the desert it is, according to UNESCO, one of the most ancient cities in the world, as first human settlement can be dated back to 5000 B.C.
Placed on the Silk Road, it was also described by Marco Polo in his book "Il Milione". Its old part is built with bricks mixed with mud. To protect from sun, some parts are covered by arcades which let the sunlight filter through holes on the ceiling.
It is nice to walk around its streets without destination.

Hi Stefano,
A very special architecture here, and a very fine picture. The light shining through the holes give a very good effect to this excellent composition. The mysterious woman in black adds a lot to this capture!
Kind regards

Hello Stefano,
Each new photos is good and even better than the previous one. The exposure shares very well the mood, the color and the texture. And the woman in black is inviting us to follow her to discover these streets.

Beautiful architecture, pronounced with the irregularity of light rays filling in randomly. It has a mystic feel to it.

Hi Stefano,
Those light beams hitting the floor remind me of Antelope Canyon, USA...
Beautifully captured, wonderful natural colours and light. And you always seem to have this lonely figure in your shots which adds dynamics and a mysterious effect at the same time. Or maybe you have hired her (?) to walk in your pictures...? ;o)
Best wishes

Ciao Stefano.
Soggetto che già da solo "fa" la foto, ma c'è anche un tuo eccellente tempismo nel cogliere la figura umana in movimento nel punto preciso dell'inquadratura dove sta bene, a 1/15 di secondo a mano!!!!!!!
Ciao.
Bobo.

Hello Stefano,
You are treating us to a wonderful virtual visit to Iran. Today you showed an aspect of Yazd -- the sun-filtering arcades, that I wasn't aware of. Along with the wind-cooled water storage, this city provides do many lessons in sustainabiity. But apart fro that, your image is magical.

Ciao Stefano,
l'asimmetricità di questa immagine è il piatto forte della composizione resa piacevole ed interessante anche dai contrasti luminosi tra i vari archi. Indispensabile la presenza umana che arrichisce e completa il lavoro. Eccellente, complimenti!

Hello Stefano,
an extremely interesting, original, creative shot! I like this combination of the architecture and the black figure which is about to disappear round the corner in a few moments... this figure looks mysterious. In some ways this photo reminds me of (almost) fantastic scenery from quest and adventure computer games (I have played a few of such).
I like the way the black figure matches in colour the silvery-blackish ceiling at the very top.
One can say a lot about this photo... so this is just part of my opinion :)
Best wishes,
Elena

Ciao Stefano,
L'atmosfera è straordinaria con questa donna che cammina sola, in questa strana via dove la luce arriva dell'altezza e si posi delicatamente sul suolo ed i muri.
Un luogo fantastico.

Hello Stefano,
I've been going through your Iran pictures. What a magnificent series of shots! No idea how I missed out on them, I guess they must have been uploaded during a low TE activity period for me;-)
This one has to be the stand-out shot. Seeing that there are so many critiques written already, I guess there's nothing left for me to do except hat off and take a bow. This is really an excellent shot.

Hi Stefano,
After having noted your last photo, I had a look to your gallery, a great on ! So many wonderful shots, you are very talented ! I chose this one to tell you that because we don't see a lot of photos of Iran on TE, and because my brother was supposed to go to Iran in coming weeks. But the recent events pushed him to withdraw his project :( Here I love the simplicity of the photo and the way you drive us to this woman.
Regards,
Olivier
