Photographer’s Note

The other day I was listening to a beautiful and moving
Putumayo´s CD The Women of Latin America.
One of the songs that pleased me the most was Lila Downs´s sweet voice
singing Icnocuicatl.

Icnocuicatl is a poem written by mexican poet
Natalio Hernández
and for me, from the very first I´ve heard it, sounded like a lullaby.

Hello Isabelle.

A delightful and very delicate photo, almost but not quite a silhouette. I like to see the light coming through the wings of this little bird, and the pleasing curl of the rope around the timber. The soft colour and light are very suitable, and lovely 'bokeh' (I think that's the right word).

I have all of Lila Downs' CDs, and the same Putumayo CD. Thanks for the great youtube link. Your photo goes very well with the song lyrics and the images. So yes, I listened and looked at your picture at the same time - lovely.

o DOF curto deixou a imagem melhor ainda. A foto também está suave nos contornos e agrada pela simplicidade do tema.

I thought I had seen this view and it looked very familiar with the bird and balcony, as mentioned in your note :) and I remembered I did a workshop on the OE wall there.

Your POV is chosen well and no problem with composition and light control here. Obviously you have a good influence on Sabrina to get her interest on TE :) to post her 1st entry.

Actually, just for fun, I have done another WS for this photo by increasing the contrast/saturation/resize/sharpen/add border/crop the top, but I will not post it. You have done a nice composition here.

ora, ora... todos gostaríamos de ver sol nessa foto ( refiro-me aos comments abaixo... ) mas nós duas e os nossos visitantes ( pássaros) sabemos que dia chuvoso e cinza-branco estava fazendo. Contudo, mais uma vez conseguistes capturar a beleza do momento! Linda composição! Beijos

Lindo poema Isabel, gostei muito.
A foto também está excelente, dificil fazer uma captura de um beija-flor em movimento, acho mais dificil é ver um paradinho, não é?
A foto parece ter uma pelicula por cima que deu um aparencia suave e interessante a foto, assim como o fundo.

Olá Isabel,
Esta não me escapou de modo algum. Há fotos suas que a gente tem que "meditar" sobre elas... e essa é uma delas, a meu ver. Com toda essa poesia, este "bokeh" tem um encanto especial e que deixa a gente mudo, olhando e escutando a música que você recomendou. Uma coisa que me impressionou muito foi o beija-flor agarrado à corda - uma imagem certamente proposital que você quis passar, associada às palavras da música - uma presença que mantém laços.
