Photographer’s Note

The last weekend three Italian TE members came to Sardinia:
Benedetto ( il corsaro nero )
Ludo ( polpo56)
and Paolo ( paolog ).
Together with Bobo (bobo), Gianfranco (baddori) and Mario (marcan44) we had several trips in the hills and coast nearby Cagliari.
It has been a great pleasure for us to meet them and to spend these three days with them.
In this photo you can see the Island of dei Cavoli, in Villasimius, at about 45 km from Cagliari.

In the workshop you can see Benedetto and Ludo in the same place and the same evening captured just after they had photographer a wonderful sunset. And then in another place, Paolo at the moment of shooting.

La scorsa fine di settimana tre membri italiani di Te sono venuti a trovarci in Sardegna per vedere la sagra di Sant’Efisio che si tiene il primo maggio e fare insieme a noi (Bobo, Gianfranco e Mario) delle escursioni fotografiche nella zona:
Benedetto ( il corsaro nero )
Ludo (( polpo56)
and Paolo (( paolog ).
con la moglie Paola.

E’ stato un grande piacere per noi conoscerli e passare questi tre giorni in loro compagnia.
In questa foto si può vedere l’Isola dei Cavoli a Villasimius, nella costa sud-orientale della Sardegna a circa 45 km da Cagliari, meta di una delle nostre passeggiate fotografiche.

Nel workshop invece potete vedere Ludo e Benedetto ritratti la stessa sera e nello stesso luogo dopo aver fotografato uno splendido tramonto. E quindi Paolo nel momento dello scatto, ma in un altro luogo.

Ciao Donato,
very beautiful - and "warm" perspective view in every sense of the word :)
In this shot I see a curious juxtaposition of the distant tiny lighthouse (this is a lighthouse?) and the big building in the FG!
Very pleasant colours and a very good composition.

composizione perfetta, che mi piace molto per i colori rilassanti, non un tramonto accecante di quelli che si vedono di solito. Questa direi che è l'altra faccia del tramonto, quella dolce. Dicevo dell'inquadratura, davvero ben fatta, con le ombre lunghe che si proiettano sulla costruzione diroccata in primo piano. Luce meravigliosa, bravo a catturarla!

What a marvelous place...
The sunset light is so pleasant for this kind of picture.
The composition with the old and dilapited house is very well thought. It is perfectly placed in your frame to give an interesting depth, and make a good diagonal with the building in the background.
The warm light gives a very quiet mood, it must have been a good moment.
Very nice shot, compliments.

Hi Donato,

Let there be light....and there was light, warm light, beautiful light....why can't it be this all the day ;-)
A perfect counter balance with the house in front on the right and the lighthouse on top to the left. And because it stands on top it brings him on a higher ground than the buildings in front which is excellent as a very good focal point. You did very wel, here.
Good to have TE friends over, seems you had a great time...

Wow... this is beautiful. Such a great warm light, you could nit get better condition to catch the ruined house in the fornt. Great work.

A che bello non pensavo poi che venissero...sono contento!!! ... sono interessanti e divertenti questi incontri vero...molto più che semplici passeggiate fotografiche.
Splendida questa immagine, i colori sul primo piano son così caldi che sembrano quasi da hdr e la nitidezza è da spettacolo.

Un tramonto meravigliosamente tranquillo, di quelli che piacciono a me, con colori soft e una bellissima luce calda e soffusa. Exposure perfetta ed atmosfera assolutamente relaxed, di quelle che invitano a starsene seduti li` a tempo indefinito con un paio di belle birre gelate a portata di mano. Bravo! Ciao Donato. Bel panorama dove la luce radente del tramonto illumina d'oro l'edificio diroccato. Risalta bene anche l'edificio - un faro? - sull'isola.

A beautiful coastal scenery . The composition is really excellent . I like a lot the old stoned building in the fore ground .
Many of tour pictures get this kind of "grey" tonality . It is not bad at all , but the colors seems to be a little unreal . What do you use to get this effect ?

Donato, this is great, and the workshops showing the othr members is super. Great color and detail. Is the light in the bg over on the island, the lizard I think it is called?

Hi Donato,
What strikes me the most here, are the very warm colours! Then you also show a composition with very fine depth, where the frontal building is in a good balance with the lighthouse in the background. The line along the foreground shore is also balncing the line seen in the clouds! For this I would like to give more than two points :-)

Ciao Donato.
Immagine stilisticamente corretta, a contrasto morbido, con l'isola dei Cavoli e relativo faro e vecchi edifici in rovina della vecchia cava. Il muro si prende un bel po' dell'inquadratura ma è anche gradevole osservarne le trame.
Molto buoni i WS.

Hi Donato, Beautiful picture friom the TE - meeting. Nice also WS. Why such a men's company? No women members:((. Sweet evening indeed. Such meeting out of the town has advantage that the people are all the time together. In busy town center it is dynamical equilibrium. .

un vecchio casale abbandonato io ci vado a caccia di questi ruderi mi piacciono molto, e quando sei li' sembra di ascoltare le voci delle persone che lo hanno vissuto, molto bello questo con il mare vicino, un piccolo paradiso ed e' strano che stia cosi' in rovina.

titolo azzeccatissimo: il colore della luce è veramente magico. Il casolare diroccato contrasta molto con il bel paesaggio marino, l'atmosfera è quasi surreale. Composizione eccellente.

Ciao Donato,difficile scrivere qualcosa quando la foto e' fatta cosi' bene,mi pagano per rompere i c.... (come dice ciakgiak) e se tutti le fanno belle come queste finiro' in cassa integrazione come il resto degli italiani.Nulla da dire..solo un consiglio...riguardo alla tua foto nel WS puoi dire a Ludo che se capita ancora una occasione come quella di dare una spintarella a Benedetto? ehehe...quest'ultimo lo sa il perche'! the rusty colors of this old house in ruins contrast well with the surrounding landscape. Colors are very relaxing and I can nearly hear the wind whispering through the grass.

You have again caught a beautiful coastal view from Sardinia with a very attractive sunset atmosphere. All colours are beautiful, but I especially like the colour tonalities of the sea and sky. The composition is very pleasant and well thought, a good perspective and depth. Bravo!

A group of 6 photographers? That is a nice number for competition! Always so nice to have a group shooting the same location and compare notes on the LCD screen later.

Very nice capture of the evening mood for this landscape view with the partial building and lighthouse at far end. I think the evening is always much more memorable because of the good company, in addition to the great scenery for shooting. The laughs make it all worth the time spent together.

Composizione canonica, perfetta, proporzioni quasi "auree" ( per chi conosce la sezione aurea).
Colori pastosi ed invitanti, nel primo piano, che rendono attraente la costruzione in rovina.

Hi Donato,
Beautiful shot to commerate your meeting with fellow TE photographers.
Love the richly textured foreground ruins that lead the eye nicely to the blue ocean and to the distant lighthouse.
The light here is special given the whole composition a warm soft glow.

you're absolutely right with your title. Just look at the light that you got here - s w e e t! The entire landscape is bathed in a pastel impression besides that your composition with the ruin in the foreground forming a diagonal element with the lighthouse in the background is simply divine.

Cette maison en ruine a encore beaucoup de caractère. La nature a commencé à la digérer pour garder la maîtrise du paysage. Les couleurs du soir sont très douces. C'est un peu la nostalgie du départ des amis qui est traduite par cette photo du soir.
