Photographer’s Note
For some time now I have been trying to improve on the Windows default desktop background photo with a few ideas of my own. This capture taken at the Tulip Festival in Agassiz last week. Stopping down to f11 was a good idea with the wide angle 10-22 lens. That lens has a nice sweeping reach for captures like this. I hope you like this composition.

Hi Paul,
Beautiful, beautiful! An excellent result with this low POV. You made us like tulips... I'm feeling like one of them, receiving all this magnificent sun of the spring.
Thanks for sharing,

Hello Paul,
Loved this composition.
You made me feel like the Frog prince sitting beneath a small red umbrella. I loved the bright sky and the red tulips from a different perspective.
TFS.

Hi Paul,
Hahaha, nice comment on the desktop. But my desktop is in the landscape layout and not in portrait layout. Looking forward to the landscape version of this one ;-).

Hi Paul,
Extreme contrast well in control. Wide angle seems to be excellent for frog's PoV. Lovely clear colours. I need to try that myself.

Hi Paul.
Great use of the very wide angle. I imagine you were lying on your back. The view is superb, with the sun coming through the petals. Fantastic exposure. The colours are awesome. The way those tulips are leaning into the scene, towering over the viewer, really makes an interesting perspective. Great work.

Hi Paul
Great composition and nicely exposed. All the colours are just right, not easy when shooting into the sun. I've seen plenty of tulip photos on TE but I like this one the best. Nice one!

Hi Paul,
Good composition, the contrast of color against the sky is great. I like the way the tulips frame the picture keeping the sky central. The sun looking like a star shining down on the tulips, makes one think of how the tulip feels enjoying it. Good capture.

Hello Paul,
So this is what ants see. This very low point of view resulted in a beautiful colour composition. The blue, red and green go very well together.
I like how you surrounded the sun with the tulips. Very good light management.
Best regards, Paul

Hi Paul,
you are right, the blossoms of these tulips are very attractive due to your low POV and the excellent management of the light. A wonderful impression with amazing colors, especially the red and blue are contrasting very nicely. Congratulation!

An excellent version of this big classic. The POV is amazing, the light well managed. The sun is perfectly catched.
Maybe this sun could have been placed more at the left, and lower on thr picture, for the composition.
Nevertheless, a superb picture

Hi Paul,
This is an amzing shot of those beautiful tulips in the sunlight. I really angle you took them from...were you laying on the ground? Excellent POV with great light, such beautiful rich colours and great details. I love it! Excellent work, Paul!

Hello Paul,
I must admit I am not such a fan of tulip flower fields, as I find their colours often too strong screaming. But thjis is a wonderful view, well composed and so transparant with the back-light. Must not have been easy laying on the ground...
Well done.

Paul

It is a very interesting composition with nice colors and details. The most that amazed me is the POV and polarizer effect on the sunlight.

A truly interesting angle. Thanks to it the tulips are illuminated in quite a special way. The DOF is deep enough for this kind of shot as well. Really a picture that is "outstanding" in its most straightforward meaning.

Bonjour Paul,

Hi again Paul
This is an excellent photo. what makes it stand out of course is your choice of composition, and you're right, the 10-22 lens is perfect for this shot.
Surprised you didn't get more sunflare spots on your shot.
excellent idea!

Ciao Paul,
spettacolare composizione con la vista dei papaveri dal basso che svettano verso il bel cielo blu con il quale contrastano alla perfezione.
Ottimo l'effetto stella sul sole.
Complimenti!

Hi Paul
I've seen in your gallery that you like the red colour! Very good idea to take flower from the back (is it easy?), and very good light management because you get the sun directly in the lens. Vivid colours.
Well thought and done!
