Photographer’s Note

This picture was taken the first day of our trek towards upper mustang near the village Kagbeni. In Mustang the coulours and shades of the earth and sand are literally "breathtakingly" beautiful.

We were kind of glad to be finally on our way and on our feet, as the day before, we experienced a very, very bumpy and adventurous ride through the Kali Gandaki Gorge with an old Toyota Corolla Taxi (the Jeeps wouldn't take us because it was already too late in the afternoon).

Last year they managed to build a "road" through the gorge, from Beni all the way up to Jomsom, and as our plane didn't depart from Pokhara due to bad sight, we decided to go by taxi.

In the beginning we were really intrigued by the idea of driving up the K.G.Gorge, but worries surfaced when we had to light the road ahead with our head torches as the head lamps of the car stopped working...

Well, once in a lifetime...

Very interesting shot from one of my dream locations that I hope to visit in the future. The area is so sparse, and hence very interesting. It would have been nicer if you were a bit higher up, so you could see more of the building, but you capture the size of these hills quite well.

Mustang area is one of my dreams. Fantastic lunar landscape with just the red building. I see that you have been there in january. I thought it was too cold and snowy in that period of the year.

Well handled light and the control of exposure has contributed towards the depth and the sharpness of image..colours are waht makes nature shots stand out and youve done it well my friend..

These are indeed trips of a lifetime..one should never let go..you will understand what i am saying if you read my latest post..or if you already have..YOU SHOULD NEVER LET GO...so what if it is already late afternoon ??

I am really mad at you !!
