Photographer’s Note
This is a picture of first beach, downtown Vancouver, on one of the nights of the celebration of lights ("the fireworks"). Everyone arrives early to get a good seat, and then sit waiting for the sun to set so they can commence. Because of the recession, this year’s fireworks were cancelled, but luckily, some sponsors stepped up to pay for the costs. The fireworks are really popular throughout the lowermain land, and the skytrain ride home afterwards is usually quite the adventure.
