Photographer’s Note
Walpurgis Night is celebrated on the 30th of april every year. Depending on where you live in Sweden, it's celebrated in different ways. In Gothenburg most the university students gather in Slottsskogen (a park) and play different games, eat grilled food and for a couple of hours they don't think about the upcoming final exams.
From Wikipedia
Historically Walpurgisnacht is derived from various pagan spring customs. Bonfires were built to keep away the dead and chaotic spirits that were said to walk among the living.
In Sweden Walpurgis Night is one of the public holidays during the year and in Gothenburg The Chalmers Cortège is an annual carnival parade held on Walpurgis Night by students of the Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg.
The Cortège consists of 500 students and around 50 truck carriages, each carriage depicting—in a satirical and comic way—significant events that have taken place since the previous parade. The procession makes its way through the city centre, where it is seen by around 250,000 people each year.

Hej Mona,
A fine picture from this very special night, and also unusually warm night! Interesting note, although I claim that the Cortège used to be better before, at least it was better in 1962...
