Color Pathway Photo

Photographer’s Note

There is in Agassiz BC a huge tulip field of color every April. Every year I try to attend the festival of blossom viewing. Down this pathway is a pure delight of color that fills the senses. At the end is a woman standing close to the irrigation sprinkler system. By the end of the week all these tulips will have their heads removed and the field to be sold on the market for bulbs.

As I have commented on Laurie's post [also using tripod!] of this same location on same day, it is very interesting to find similar scenery but presented in individual style to show the attractive colors of this tulip field.

I think your composition to include the twists of the lines is well thought. I like the full spray of water in breaking the green and creating a misty mood there.

I like your shot here a little more, perhaps your experience does play a good part of it.

I like the depth and colorful lines and curves here.
The long spray of water and the person in contrasting blue in the distance makes it a great composition.

Very good representation of perspective and viewpoint, showing different level of land and vertical lines till vanishing point just like road and lights are ending in the infinitive, the colours also dimensions are natural and accurate well done PAUL ENNS.

Were you there with someone by the name 'Laurie'? I can't help but notice a VERY similar shot posted moments after this one. Great colors and I like the vertical composition with the sprinkler providing a nice horizontal contrast.

Nicely done. You have accentuated the undulating rows by using the telephoto lens and the lines all lead to the woman and the sprinkler.

Beautiful color undulation though the tone of yellow stripes is partly broken by strong high saturation. The water arch works effectively as well as the blue sky. Beautiful graphic!

Hello Paul!
The flowered field would be enough subject for an excellent photograph, but you had talented photographer's eyes to see a bit more than that, a simple idea but that worked out superbly as an image: the sprinkler and the woman in the background! All the good photo qualities are present but I'd like to point out the outstanding composition and the perfect management of light! Sharpness is pretty adequate to this sort of picture!
