Photographer’s Note
One of the bigger dunes at Sesriem in the early morning with the fog still laying low. The natural colors are beautiful, but still I couldn't resist turning it into B&W, add a bit of noise etc. Not sure yet if I treated it right, been staring myself blind at the damn thing all morning. Will perhaps replace it with another version later...

I think it works very well in B&W Nana - I especially like the contrast between the patch of sunlight on the left and the dense shadow on the other side of the dune.
The cloud / sandstorm overhead gives the image a lot of atmosphere.
Cheers,
Ben

Love its surreal, mysterious, smooth look/feel, Nana! A successful b&w approach as far as I'm concerned, the noise works fine too - an interesting, very atmospheric work.
Thank you.

Hello Nana,
Sesriem as I haven't seen. Thesefog makes a beautifull effect on the dunes. You make here a very good work, even if the high part of hte picture is all grey. It's make the picture more strange.
Well done.
Salutations

n'est-ce pas un crime de faire du noir et blanc dans un pays si coloré ?
peut-être pas finalement
bravo

Hi Nana,
dunes and fog, a beautiful and strange mix. I´d like to see the colour original. B&W is good, but adding grain makes no sense for me. Ansel Adams also has crystal clear B&Ws :)
Compliments, Chris

Hi Nana,
Having recently been to Namibia myself (I was there in May so I must have been in Sesriem two or three weeks after you), it's a real pleasure to see this and takes me right back there. These dunes look wonderful in the fog - we had clear blue skies and very harsh light during the day.
I had a look at your personal site and really enjoyed the pictures there too. I think I prefer the colour versions but the B&W works well too, particularly the contrast between the deep blacks and that lighter patch on the left. It certainly makes for a stark, dramatic image.
Regards,
John
