Photographer’s Note
Yesterday I showed you the ruin of the ancient Abbey Heisterbach not far away from the right bank of Rhine River some kilometres south of Bonn.
At the time there are excavations in progress with the objective of instituting an archeological site there which gives the opportunity of seeing the foundation walls of the abbey and especially of the whole ancient minster which has had dimensions of 44 x 88 metres. Also the medieval ductwork of the different fish ponds there will be uncovered.
I watched the excavators with their small brushes, grattoirs and survey equipment for a while and I really was impressed by their patience and exactness - and all this predominantly kneeling ...
In workshop you can see other pictures of these excavations.
A wonderful and sunny May Day to all!

Hi Frank!
intersting work, interesting photo of working people in the 1 May day.
In Italy we would have 1 million people working like these ones! the country is full of ruins uner the ground, our sons will discover a lot for many many years. Hard interesting work!

Hello Frank,
A good daily life shot showing this pair of archaeologists carrying out their painstaking work. Excellent light and colours and good sharpness. Always interesting watching others at work.

Important photo. Fine "men at work" theme.
Regards my dear friend.
PS. You were certainly right I'm too old to do some hard work in the garden. Today I had a small accident. My leg is cut. The scare is 15 cm long, but not too deep happily...
No saw in use, of course! :)))

Hallo Frank,
Must have been interesting to watch their work. A good shot. The WS#1 is the most interesting one, in my opinion, because it shows the scale of the excavations and also their location close to the buildings. TFS!
Have a nice May Day evening,
Lasse

Hi Frank,
A very inetersting picture and I get the feeling that the archelogogist to the right is more concentrated on another photographer... This is a picture in the true TE spirit!
Kind regards
Gunnar

Hello Frank,
This could be a lesson in precise, archaeological excavation. Well composed shot, together with the ws versions and the note, is exactly in the spirit of TE as I understand it.
Warm regards,
Bulent
