Photographer’s Note
This picture was taken in April 30, 1975. The day the North Vietnamese Communist took over the South. From the picture, the father carried all his belongings and his little child in the back. I love this scene. It reminds me 34 years ago this day, the VC came and a tyrannical government start.

Dear Thai Tran,
Thank you for posting a documentary photo. Were you a journalist?
I just want to add some information regarding "VC" or any regime in the history of this country: the core laws of existence in Vietnamese society are social contract and settlement.

hi Thai
Welcome to TE community. Your 1st post entry here of B&W scene of exodus from 1975 is a nice start to share your photography. Although I think this size is much too small tos how any detail, I hope you will read the FAQ, Guidelines and ABOUT at the top of this page, especially about 800pixel size and 300kb max filesize for upload.
Perhaps you have experienced the change of government takeover by the different political system and perhaps you are against it. Anyway today the Vietnam is doing well and promising of a bright future. There is no good or bad system for a country, it is only a choice of which is most suitable.
This photo is not particularly good quality and it does not look to be very well done, especially the crop of the man's front load and distracting background of the houses.
But it is a good start of your posting and hope to see more from you.
tfs, bill
