Photographer’s Note

Minas Gerais (in English "General Mines") was so named for its great riches in the mining industry. It is one of the 26 states of Brazil, the second most populous and fourth largest by area in the federation. The landscape of the State is marked by mountains, valleys, and large areas of fertile lands.

The central and eastern area of the state is hilly and rocky, with little vegetation on the mountains. Some of the mountains are almost entirely iron ore, which led to extensive mining (in some places at the expense of the environment). Recent advances in environmental policy helped to put limits to mining. To the east of the state capital Belo Horizonte, there is a region known as Vale do Aço (steel valley), mainly the cities of Ipatinga, Coronel Fabriciano and Timóteo, which holds a great number of iron and steel processing companies along the course of the Rio Doce and afluents. Now that mining is restricted large areas of forest are being removed for timber, charcoal and to clear land for cattle ranching. The original forest cover of these inland hills is very much fragmented.

Hi Lucas,
Uniquely different shot. To me it appears like a painting.(can't say which form) I have special affinity for Steel Cities as I myself belong to one. And believe me here too the mountains with Haemetite (iron ore) are reddish.

A beautiful picture , with different fine grounds : the fences in the fore ground , the rolling hills , and the superb rocky mountains in the bakground . A great depth , too , and a perfect sharpness .

Lucas o que me chama mais a atenção aqui são os detalhes que você conseguiu na montanha mesmo ela estando tão distante de você e ainda usando 5.6 de abertura, muito bom.
Gosto das cores e do belo visual dessa paisagem.

Good to see your post again.

Such a lovely view of landscape of General Mines and the mountain plateau is really impressive even looking from a distance here. Very nice green valley mood.

I would have avoided the wooden post if possible especially the FG part because it seems distracting to me.

Still, I find this very interesting.

fantásticas cores, luminosidade e composição. A montanha de rochas ao fundo ficou excelente.

Que foto belíssima. Esta montanha ao fundo é realmente impressiva, e a definição muito boa conseguiu que as texturas desta montanha ficassem muito apresentadas. Gostei bastante da foto, com muito boa nitidez, excelente exposição, cores bem naturais e bonitas, um ponto de vista muito bem escolhido e uma composição acertada e também bela!
Aprecio bastante as montanhas e toda a paisagem mineira, um estado riquíssimo neste quesito (dentre outros, é claro!).

A very beautiful ladscape and a very nice view. The good use of the barrier in the FG give a great depht to the image, pleasnt propsect to the mountains in the BG. Contrast well colected and nice green colours rich in nunaces well collected too.

j'aime beaucoup les lumières bien tamisées de cette photo. Elle permettent aux couleurs de totalement s'exprimer.
Beaucoup de contraste et le post processing y est sans doute pour une petite part.
