The Golden Shower tree (Cassia fistula) is of great importance to People from Kerala. We cannot do without this flower during the Malayalam new year called Vishu.
I heard from my cousin abroad that due to export shortage of this flower from India and also due to the non occurance of this tree naturally beyond South Asia, they pluck flowers of a bush which produces yellow flowers to celebrate Vishu.
Perhaps to such folks even a look at a shot like this could bring back memories of their Village. Here's to them! :)
Oh! also forgot to mention, this flower is also the National flower of Thailand
