Photographer’s Note
It was saturday morning at Maiga Island. This Sea Bajau boy name was Roli. He cannot speak proper malay. We have to ask our boatman to translate for us. When we ask about his age. He don't know how old he is. As for daily work, he catch Balais fish and dry it to sell it at Semporna.
It was an ordinary scenario at Maiga Island with population of Sea Bajaus. They were stateless. Don't have identity cards and don't have any education. They have sea as their source of food. But seems they really enjoy their life.

Hello Samshul,
A view that is at the same time intere'sting, so well composed, and beautiful to look at.
You captured the drying of the fish by the boy together with a view on the fisherman's houses and wider habitat. All clear and sharp and in natural colours.
Well done.
Regards,
Paul

Hi Shamsul
Really good photo!
You have done a good job of framing enough to tell the viewer a bit of a story of these people's lives without overcrowding it. And you have a good depth of focus allowing us to see the fish drying in the foreground and some detail in the background.
Well done.
