Porto again... :-)

On the picture churches: Igreja do Carmo (on the right side) and Igreja dos Carmelitas (on the left side). Between them a house which has about 1 meter of widht (if I good remember). One time, there was a law in Portugal that stipulated, that two churches couldn't share the same wall...

On the outer wall of the Igreja do Carmo - azulejos. They tell the story of the Carmelite order of monks.

And I know - I have no idea, why this palm is in the right corner... ;-)

espetacular Igreja, não conhecia e deve ser, um dos muitos poucos tesouros que temos de pé!...
Calculo que seja no Porto naõ?
Sou apaixonada por azulejos e a sua fotografia mostra bem esse "tesouro".
Obrigaga por tão boa foto, boa luz boa pespectiva e bom ponto de vista.

Piekny kosciol, wspaniale wylozony plytkami azulejos. Ladne swiatlo, bardzo ladne kolory.

Bonjour madredeus
Un bon POV qui permet de donner le volume à cette église.Ici je constate un très bon rendu des couleurs et l'image est bien nette.Ce Powershot A590 IS fournit de très bonnes images.

Witaj madredeus,

Bardzo ładny kadr kościoła w Porto. Udalo sie po,lazać i fasadę i te piekne azulejos na ścianie. Świetne kolory. Ludzi akurat tylu, zeby ożywić widoczek.

I know the place very well, extremely well! Just behind the corner from where you took the shot is the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto. I started my university studies in that faculty in 1969. The palm tree is part of the “Largo dos Leões” (Lions Square – the unofficial name of the place), because in its center there is a water fountain decorated with four lions.
Thanks for bringing back some wonderful memories.

Piekny kosciol. Przesliczne swietlo, dobre kolorki. Niesamowite okna. No i ta sciana z prawej. To sa, jak sie domyslam, slynne portugalskie azulejos?
