Good portrait, nicely shot. Well lit, well focused, good DOF.
Now, a little bit too much posed/dead on for my taste. It might have been nice to bring his hands (or at least one) into the bottom of the image to add more interest.
And - some notes?

Nice Portraiture. I agree with Bob about the posing, but a very nice first posting all in all. Welcome to TE

Sure, it's posed, but that does not mean that it's a bad shot. For me he appears to be very relaxed in front of the camera; therefore, I don't feel that it is 100% posed, so to speak. I'm amazed how well you managed to expose each and every part of his clothing (including the face). Sharpness is amazing as well. Wonderful work indeed.

Colors are exquisite, focusing is very good, I like pictures of local people a lot. But if you had pictured the man with a setting it might be more authentic

The face of that man expresses honor, it is a very well composed picture.

wow...excellent piece of work. the lens is excellent, phenomenal dof. however, if you would take a same shot of the same guy dressed in reagular "european" clotes it would not be the same. these colors add a lot to the atmosphere, to the very strong contrast between the shapes. tfs, alan

Linda,
A nice portrait...
You have shown this guy in a very nice detail...
May be he should have shown some expression to avoid a too "posing" overture...
technically a superb one.
Cheers,
Prem.

Hi Linda,
What a fantastic portrait. Everything from the capturing of the old mans face, to the colour, to the sharpness, is done perfectly. Thanks for sharing,
Jules
