A WALK THROUGH THE UNIVERSE

"Let me show you the universe," the young woman said.
She opened her hand and a glowing ball of light appeared in her palm. I leaned forward to look at it and it expanded before my eyes, breaking up into black voids and brilliant speckles of light. I leaned still closer and behold! One of speckles exploded into a miniature spiral galaxy, its center too brilliant for the naked eye. I focused on one of the spiral arms and let it expand before me, breaking up into clouds of dust and clusters of stars.
I leaned still closer and let one of the patches of stars grow ever larger until finally only one star was in view. "This one," I said, "Let me see this one," and I did. It swelled in my view until all the world was burning flame. It was too much and I looked away into the darkness where I saw stones alone in the night. I chose one, a small one not far from the burning star.
"This one," I said, "Let me see this one", and I did. It too swelled in my view. Blue and white it was and it had a dirty gray companion. I leaned closer and the blue and white world became all. Here and there amidst the blue there were patches of brown and green. I drifted down through the white clouds towards a border between the blue and green, drifted down until I saw the yellow lights of a city below at night.
I was almost there. Where I was I did not know but I knew that I was almost there. The city dissolved into streets and buildings, first small then larger as I drew close. One building grew to normal size. Through a window I could see a man and a young woman. Her hand was held forward and he had his face buried in her palm. I felt a desperate need to complete my journey, to rush forward and unite with the man, to merge into him, to complete my being.
And then the world went black and I jerked back. The young woman reached up and gently touched my blind eye.
"I am sorry," she said, "I am so terribly sorry."

Model'le ilgili hiçbirşey söylemiyeceğim; Allah onu da, bu kare'yi de kem gözlerden korusun !
Kare'ye gelince, muhteşem ! Çok mükemmel grafik etkisi olan bir kare bu da. Siyah Beyaz'ı da iyi ama, bu hali daha çok hoşuma gitti.

Seninle fotoğraf çekmek ne yorucu, ne keyifliymiş, unutmuşum valla :)
Bu toplar için benim de aklımdan geçen başlık "across the universe" idi, ama bunun üstüne fotoğraf konulmaz uzun bir süre. Seninle fotoğraf çekince de insan kendisine yükleyecek fotoğraf çıkaramıyor ama olur o kadar diyorum...
Gölgeler ve silüet, tahminen shade modundaki çekim, şahane!

Looks like a fascinating exhibition. Your choice of centring the composition on the illuminated entrance and the perfectly-positioned woman's silhouette makes this a very powerful image, suggestive of transcience (humankind's place in the universe perhaps?). I find it somehow very resonant.
Thanks also for the note, the short story complements the image perfectly. I looked up Richard Harter on the internet and have spent the last hour reading articles on his website - a real goldmine!

Hello korkut.I liked that from note("I was almost there. Where I was I did not know but I knew that I was almost there"). The book does not say that I found in Google Richard Harter? Good picture with dynamic perspective and power black with artist frame and idea, and good crop.I thank for the wishes.

Zemindeki gölgelerin oluşturduğu perdemsi-tülümsü his,hissedilmeye değer yani:D
Orada olmak vardı valla,çok merak ediyor ve de heyecanlanıyorum şimdiden...
Gün olur da,benim "öpücüklü" afişe benzeyen bir şey bulursak,(şimdi bir kelime kullanıcam,farklı anlamlara çekilmesin,kullanacak başka bir ifade bulamıyorum) uygulamalı gösteririm! :P
Kuzey'i şapıdanak öpüyorum,iyi haftalar.

Soo much you, Korkut, it has your stamp all over it, you really have that great eye for things graphic, and plays of light. Love the touches of color here reflecting on the floor too, and all that back as canvas, the woman...:-). Great work, so fine-tuned. I keep that Harter guy reference to go and have a look, I got interested.

This exhibit provided a stellar opportunity for a photo, and you captured the moment nicely. The woman walking through gives personal feel and movement to what might otherwise seem a rather abstract and sterile scene.

I cannot decide what I like best, the photo or the quote in your note. but their combination is deadly in a good way, absolutely fascinating. the smooth surface of the floating spheres make them look almost ethereal, easy to imagine that each one of them can expand into a whole universe. great shot, my compliments.

C'est une photo que j'aurais aimé faire. Le personnage se détache en silhouette sur le rectangle clair alors que toute la pièce est plongée dans l'obscurité et que seules les boules haut-parleurs colorées sont éclairées par des spots qui projettent des ombres et un peu de lumière au sol.
C'est magique !

Nice! The light shining from the top of the hanging balls makes the picture. The way it illuminates the balls and creates the shadows on the floor is great. Hats off to you for seeing that and registering the moment.

The timings, so critical here is superbly done. Coincidence?...hmmmm! But the 'planets' hanging on strings & their circular shadows on the floor complete a picture which is so well contemplated and created. Exposure which is also a critical element in this shot is masterful. Fine work!
