Photographer’s Note
Michigan State tamil Sangam (a Non profit community organization) conducted a celebration and the gala ended with a huge bang of this folk dance. This was the largest crowd on stage that I can remember. And a great highlight of all the performances. It was well coordinated and action packed and I never got a chance to find a split second where I could find all or atleast most of them stand still. I struggled to capture the moment and this was taken at the end of the performance where all are supposed to rest and wait for audience to do their part. However, I still managed to capture the essence of action. Environment is difficult with less light and high action on the stage.
Pongal Festival is a Version of post harvesting event from Tamil Nadu state in India. All the traditions refer to rural folk dances of Tamil Nadu.
Its been a while since I've ever uploaded another picture. Finally catching up my passion and hobby.
