Photographer’s Note
Hello Everyone,
This will be my last posting from Morecambe, in this series. The shot shows the beauty of Morecambe Bay, which is reknown for its shrimps, its cockles and its its wonderful seabirds.
This shot was taken on a very bright day, which created fine shadows but reflected like a mirror on the wet sand!
Morecambe Bay has been featured on many interesting T.V. programmes which have featured, among other things, the treacherous path, across the bay, which can only be attempted when accompanied by the local guide; and also the tragedy of the Chinese cockle pickers who were unaware of the dangers of the Morecambe Bay oncoming tide and were sadly drowned.
I have added an interesting link here, which tells a little of the history of the area, its shrimping and the path across the bay.
Many thanks for your interest.
I hope you enjoyed the shot.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph. Bev :-)

Hi Berverley,
Well chosen composition with the rocks and boat on the foreground. A clean nice shot with simple but eye catching subject.

Hello bev,
A nice feeling of the wide open spaces which are Morecambe Bay. I don't think I can ever feel quite the same about the bay since the really tragic end of those fatally exploited cockle pickers - although I know there have been other victims in the past. All looks very placid and idyllic in this shot, which makes good use of the horizontal layers.
Best wishes....Maggie

Hi Beverley
The lone boat adds a good fg focal point. I've read about the Chinese who drowned here a few years ago. Good sharpness & composition. I like the muted colours. Tfs, & have a great weekend!

Hi Bev,
Really love these subtle under-stated colors in the marvelous low tide coastal scene.
Wonderful textures to the foreground rocks and swirling tidal mud and shallow blue seas.
You can count me in on the shrimp and cockles.

Hi Bev.
More Morecambe. And why not? Your series makes me think it's a place worth visiting. Your shot has a pleasant softness despite the bright conditions, and the boat is nicely positioned in the composition. I love those two further out, they seem to be nodding to each other! And the hazy far side of the bay lends a lot of depth to the shot. Don't think I've ever had a cockle but would be willing to try one, maybe not alive-oh.
Regards,
Andrew

Hello Bev,
A fine composition to show off the beauty of the sands. The beached boat makes an interesting focal point before the eyes go on to explore the rest of the scene. I like the soft light and colours.

Hi Beverley,
a very nicely composed impression from the coast. These unusual colors make it very attractive and I think this image has deserved more attention. You have captured the atmosphere of the tide excellently! TFS!
Warm regards

Hi Bev,
I like the impressionistic light in this picture and the boat here is well placed in your composition. Are there oysters as well here?
Kind regards

Bev, nice one, I can smell the salt air and the receding tide. Nice color and I love the sea mist.
