Photographer’s Note

Every morning on Ngapali Beach women cover the beach with blue nets and wait for men coming back with tons of little fish. Then the ballet begins. They start throwing the fishes on these blue nets so that they dry under the sun.

A very eye catching scene with the girls in traditional hats against the soft coloured BG.This POV allows a good separation between the duo whose expression during the moment of conversation is nicely captured. Good job.

How many days did you spend in Myanmar?

This is a place I would love to visit one day soon. Especially with this kind of scenes and good light at the beach to show your capture of the fishing activity. I imagine waking up early had allowed you to take a good glimpse into morning life of local people here.

Very good daily life shot with good sharpness and detail.

An intriguing people shot, not just in the fine composition, but in the way we are presented with what could almost be called two views of the same person, one side and one back. Good use of DOF, too.

I wonder if you know anything about the stuff on the woman's face? Sun protection, perhaps?

Great feel to this one! Interesting to see these hats, as I don't think I have seen them in other countries. Vietnam of course is similiar, but not exactly. As usual your colors are perfect and natural. And such a beautiful light to this morning!

I also have the 70-200 but without the IS. I am really enjoying it, and it seems to work well for me, as long as I keep the shutter speed above 150/sec. Next I want the 5D..hehe. Cheers,

This is an attractive composition, depicting the interaction between the two women so well!
Narrow DoF works well to isolate the subjects, and the colours are nicely reproduced...
The morning sun lends a fine hue to the colours!

Ah, that lens is a winner huh? I wish I used mine more often, the results are so good, but it's just so heavy! You've used it well here - the two women stand out beautifully against the bokeh background. Great lighting too, and you've composed it perfectly so that the outlines of the two women's hats fit together almost like a jigsaw.
